Adjusting the squeegee Adjust the squeegee pressure fixing nodule (H) to adjust the pressure of the squeegee with floor. When perfectly adjusted the squeegee will form a 45⁰ angle with the floor, sliding easily as it moves and bending in at all points. Filling the clean water tank • Fill the clean water tank using a hose or similar tool. • Pour directly through the sponge filter of the clean water tank filling point into the tank. Adding detergent to clean water tank • Remove the sponge filter from the clean water filling point. • Fill with the correct amount of Vax Commercial scrubber drier detergent per litre as indicated on the label. • Ensure sponge is replaced before starting machine. IMPORTANT: Only use Vax Commercial recommended detergents. The use of other chemical products may not allow the machine to perform at its optimum capabilities. Vax Careline: (UK) 0330 026 4275 11 Operation ! ! ! WARNING: To disable during operation, pull the battery security connector to disconnect all power to machine. ! Operating the machine Battery Insert the battery security connector. Insert the ignition key and turn on switch on the machine. Lift the power lever. Direct machine forward in single passes. Activate the brush motor and suction motor. Lower the squeegee lever. IMPORTANT: • When moving in reverse, lift the squeegee using the squeegee lever. • After changing direction (into a forward direction), lower squeegee and the suction will automatically return to the previous position. • For best results maintain straight directional lines. NOTE: • The float will rise and suction will stop when the dirty water tank is full. • Empty the dirty water tank – Go to ‘Draining the dirty water tank’. 12 vaxcommercial.co.uk ne. Maintenance Draining ! ! the dirty water tank ! WARNING: Before carrying out any type of maintenance, remove ignition key and disconnect the machine ! connector. battery Park machine near a sewer drain or suitable location to comply with the national regulations for waste water disposal. Switch off the machine Pull the battery security and remove the ignition key. connector to disconnect. Detach the drain hose from the hook. Holding hose high, unclip end cap. Lower the drain hose over the drain point. Replace diry water tank cover, hooking the locking clip securely into place. The hood must be airtight to avoid loss of pressure and reduction in drying efficiency. Re-fit the drain hose end cap and attach the hose onto the hook behind the machine. Cleaning the dirty water tank Lift to remove diry water tank cover, to clean through inspection hole. Using a hose or similar tool to rinse dirt and debris in dirty water tank. NOTE: • The machine should be emptied and cleaned after each use. • Do not leave the machine with dirty water in the tank as can cause blockages and potentially create bad odours. Vax Careline: (UK) 0330 026 4275 13 Maintenance Cleaning of the suction motor filter and float Lift to remove the dirty water tank cover. Remove the suction filter and rubber casing. Separate the filter and casing and rinse under water. Use an allen key to undo screw and remove the float. Remove any dirt/debris, rinse and under water DO NOT ALLOW WATER TO ENTER THE MOTOR FUNNEL. 24hr Leave to dry for 24 hours or until fully dry before placing back into the machine. 14 vaxcommercial.co.uk Maintenance Emptying the clean water tank IMPORTANT: Make sure the clean water tank is empty. Park the machine near a sewer drain or suitable location that complies with the national regulations for waste water disposal. Unscrew the clean water tank drain plug. Rinse the inlet filter and clean water tank, using a hose or similar tool. Wait until the tank has completely emptied before tightening and closing the valve. Cleaning the water filter The flow tap/water filter is situated below dirty water tank. Twist the flow tap anticlockwise to remove. Remove any dirt/debris, rinse under water. Push and refit the water filter. Twist flow tap clockwise to refit. Vax Careline: (UK) 0330 026 4275 Pull to remove the water filter from the flow tap. 15 Maintenance Cleaning the squeegee IMPORTANT: All work on the electrical system as well as all maintenance and repair operations (especially those not explicitly described in this user guide) should be carried out only by Vax authorised technical personnel who are experts in the sector and in the pertinent safety regulations. Loosen the squeegee fast fixing nodule. Slide the squeegee out of the support bracket. Pull to remove the suction hose from the squeegee assembly. Clean squeegee under running water using a sponge or a brush. Check the efficiency and the wear on the blades in contact with the floor. 16 vaxcommercial.co.uk Maintenance Squeegees are designed to pick up dirty liquid from hard floors. Regular cleaning tends to round or deteriorate the sharp edge of the blade, which reduces pick up and therefore drying efficiency. This force tends to round or to deteriorate the sharp edge of the blade, reducing drying efficiency. This is why the squeegee blades must be replaced. Cleaning the brush Rotate the brush to ‘dead point’ releasing tabs on the brush guard and brushes. Press firmly down on top of the brush to release brush plate. Vax Careline: (UK) 0330 026 4275 Clean the brushes under running water. To avoid damaging the floor and the machine, carefully check if debris, such as metallic parts, screws, chips, cords or similar items, have become lodged in the brushes. 17 Maintenance Cleaning the suction hose • This will prevent blockages affecting the machines performance and will reduce odour build up. • It is recommended that the suction hose is cleaned at regular intervals (weekly) or whenever performance is reduced. • Detach the suction hose from the squeegee. • Remove the suction hose from the machine via the connection hole in the dirty water tank. • Wash the hose and remove any blockages. • After cleaning, securely attach the suction hose to the machine and squeegee. Cleaning the machine body • Use a sponge or a soft cloth to clean the exterior of the machine and if necessary, a soft brush to remove tough dirt. • Steam cleaner can be used but not use a high pressure cleaner to clean the body of the machine. • Important: Running water hotter than 50°C, a high-pressure cleaner or powerful spray may damage the tanks and the machine. • Warning: Never direct cleaning water jets towards the machine electrics. 18 vaxcommercial.co.uk d.
