Page 1 of 2 InstallerNet Confidential Document TechSheet: 185-01 Rev.: 1.00 Date: 6/24/2011 Model: Home Monitoring Kit Brand: Verizon Verizon Home Monitoring Kit Installation Guidelines 1) Installation of the Gateway The first thing you should do when on site is connect the Verizon Bridge to internet and power it on. Reason being is that it takes 4-5 minutes for the Bridge to download the appropriate firmware for each specific customer’s setup. Please make sure that the latest version of Quicktime Player is installed on the PC they wish to use for monitoring their IP cameras.. With the Gateway connected use the Verizon Portal finalize the Bridge Setup. 2) Installation of the Light Module The light module can be plugged into any INDOOR, three-prong, 120 volt A/C outlet. 3) Connecting a Lamp Plug a lamp into the Z-Wave side of the light module. The Z-Wave side is the twoprong side. • A lamp (25 watts minimum and 300 watts maximum) can be controlled through the Z-Wave side of the light module • DO NOT use Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs The light module works like a dimmer switch and will not function properly with CFL and LED bulbs or electrical devices with motors, like fans. • Make sure that the lamp switch is in the ON position The pass-through (three-prong) outlets (1500 watts maximum) is NOT controlled by the system and functions as a standard electrical outlet. 4) Enrolling the Light Module For more information, go to www.InstallerNet.com , log into InstallerNet Technical Information area, then select the Brand and Model of desired item. InstallerNet Inc. 2010 InstallerNet Confidential Document Page 2 of 2 5) Installation of the IP Camera On the Wireless Camera you will need to attach the wireless antenna. To do this simply screws the antenna onto the threaded post on the back of the unit. It is usually best to position the antenna vertically but this can be adjusted to meet specific signal or aesthetical needs. 6) Attaching Camera Stand The camera stand is used to provide a steady base for the camera. To attach please follow the below steps: • • • • Loosen the plastic nut on the back of the camera Rotate the threaded post upwards Rotate the camera onto the threaded post until it stops Tighten the plastic washer against the camera to secure it 7) Connecting to Power and Ethernet The camera needs to be connected to power and Ethernet. DO NOT connect these until instructed to do so by the website during the enrollment process. 8) Enrolling the Devices in the Verizon Portal Have the customer log in0o there Verizon Account. From the Home Control page click on the Gateway to finalize the Gateway configuration then click on the Lamp Module to finalize its configuration and then finally click on the IP Camera to finalize its configuration.
