eMagine Hardware Requirements Patterson Employees using eMagine version 3.x The recommendations listed are the minimum system requirements necessary to efficiently install and use the eMagine software. Minimum System Requirements Component Operating System CPU Free Hard Drive Space Random Access Memory (RAM) CD-ROM Display Internet Service Provider (ISP) Web Browser Recommendation Windows 2000 Windows XP Pro Windows 7 Pro – 32 and 64 Bit Pentium 3 or higher 1 GB 512 MB or higher 32X speed 24-bit color Dial-up, DSL, Cable Modem Virus Protection Microsoft Internet Explorer v5.5 or higher 56K V. 90 Various Providers Firewall Various Providers Keychain Scanner by Symbol USB connection only Notes *eMagine is not compatible with Windows NT, ME, 95 or Vista or MAC *No Home Operating Systems are tested or Supported. *User must be logged in as Administrator or Power User *User Access Controls (UAC) turned off – Windows 7 Pro eMagine requires an internet connection to transmit data Internet Explorer must be set as the default browser. AOL versions are not supported. Modem is required for dial up ISP eMagine uses a secure connection to the Patterson server; however virus protection is strongly recommended for any computer with internet access. Patterson Dental does not have a firewall recommendation. If one is installed in an office, Port 80 must be open for eMagine to function properly. In addition, there must be no file size restriction on the firewall. See your Sales Representative for details.
