Vibrating Anti-Bark Collar User’s Manual Please Read this Manual Carefully Before Use Introduction The Vibrating Anti-Bark Collar prevents your dog from barking through the humane application of a behavior-modifying tone and a vibrating stimulation. The Anti-Bark Collar is easy to use and to test, and it is activated by the throat vibrations caused by your dog’s barking. A microprocessor inside the collar distinguishes your dog’s bark from other environmental noises and automatically delivers a behavior-modifying tone and vibration after each bark. IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE COLLAR IS FITTED CORRECTLY. When the collar is fitted correctly, it will not move on your dog’s neck, and you should be able to slide a single finger under the collar. If the collar is not fitted correctly, it may activate randomly and not when your dog barks. Main Features Rechargeable and Water-Resistant Vibrating Anti-Bark Collar • • • • • LED Indicator light. Testing the Anti-Bark Vibrating Collar • • • • • • • • • • Turn the Anti-Bark Vibrating Collar ON. Use a pen or even your finger to scratch the TEST pad on the inside of the collar. Each time you scratch the pad, the collar will respond as follows: On the 1st Scratch: 1.5-second tone. On the 2nd Scratch (within 40 seconds): 2.5-second tone; On the 3rd Scratch (within 40 seconds): 4-second tone & 0.5-second vibration; On the 4th Scratch (within 40 seconds): 4-second tone & 1-second vibration; On the 5th Scratch (within 40 seconds): 4-second tone & 3-second vibration; On the 6th Scratch (within 40 seconds): 4-second tone & 3-second vibration; On the 7th Scratch (within 40 seconds): 4-second tone & 5-second vibration. If the collar is not activated within 40 seconds, it will go into Sleep Mode and revert to the default (level 1) setting. Using the Anti-Bark Vibrating Collar on Your Dog Ensure that the Anti-Bark Collar is OFF before putting it on your dog. Check the collar and adjust the strap to the correct length. The Rounded Vibrating Prongs MUST make contact with your dog’s skin in order to work. If necessary, CAREFULLY shave the fur on your dog’s neck to ensure that the Rounded Vibrating Prongs make good contact – remember that the collar is not permanent, and the fur will eventually grow back. When the collar is around your dog’s neck, the device must not be able to move. If it moves, adjust the strap until it is tight. Remember that you must be able to INSERT ONE FINGER between the collar and your dog’s neck. The Rounded Vibrating Prongs must be on either side of the windpipe. LEAVE THE COLLAR ON FOR 24-48 HOURS BEFORE ACTIVATING THE ANTI-BARK COLLAR. Your dog must become accustomed to the collar before you can begin training. It is not unusual for a dog to scratch or claw at a new collar. Once your dog is accustomed to the collar, you can begin training. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES PUT THE COLLAR ON YOUR DOG WITHOUT FIRST TESTING IT! Before you put the Anti-Bark Vibrating Collar on your dog, turn the sensitivity all the way down by pressing the – (Power/Minus) button. If your dog barks and the collar does not beep, press the + (Plus) button to increase the sensitivity. Gradually increase the sensitivity until the collar beeps immediately after your dog barks. The Anti-Bark Vibrating Collar is now set up correctly. Training Your Dog with the Anti-Bark Vibrating Collar Remember that it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to train your dog with the Anti-Bark Collar – you cannot just put the collar on your dog and expect it to figure it out. Whenever your dog barks, you must give it a “NO” command. The collar will reinforce that command. If your dog continues to bark, you must respond with a more forceful “NO!” command. Very soon, your dog will associate the tone and the vibration with the “NO” command, and it will learn that the way to stop the discomfort is to stop barking. You must not just put the collar on your dog and expect it to know what to do! Although most dogs are very intelligent, you must help your pet to understand the collar. ALWAYS REMOVE THE COLLAR OR SWITCH IT OFF WHEN YOU ARE NOT TRAINING YOUR DOG. Remember that the collar is a behavioral aid used for training purposes and should not be worn for extended periods of time. CAUTION! • • • Do not allow your dog to chew the Vibrating Anti-Bark Collar. Prevent your dog from scratching or clawing at the casing. This device is made from plastic and contains electronic components that are not digestible. Consult your vet immediately if your dog swallows any part of this product. THE COLLAR IS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE AS A RESTRAINING COLLAR. If you want to put your dog on a leash, make sure to attach it to a separate restraining collar. Troubleshooting Guide/FAQS ===== Question: The Vibrating Anti-Bark Collar keeps activating. Answer 1: The sensitivity is set too high. Reduce the sensitivity by pressing the – (Power/Minus) button. Answer 2: The collar is not tight enough. Please tighten the collar. ===== Question: Whenever my dog shakes his head, the collar activates. Answer: Until your dog becomes accustomed to the collar, it may find it uncomfortable and will shake its head and scratch at the collar; this will cause the collar to activate. For this reason, it is recommended that you let the dog wear the collar for 24-48 hours before you switch it on and begin training. ===== Question: My dog barks, but the collar does not activate. Answer 1: Ensure that the battery is fully charged. Answer 2: Ensure that the sensitivity is not too low. Increase the collar’s sensitivity by pressing the + (Plus) button. Answer 3: Ensure that the collar is not too loose and tighten it if necessary. ===== Question: The collar emits a tone but does not vibrate. Answer: There is enough charge in the battery to activate the tone, but not enough to activate the vibration. Please recharge the battery. ===== Question: What is the recommended dog weight for this collar? Answer: The lowest recommended weight is 8 lbs, however the collar will still work without hurting a smaller dog. You should have to consider the strap length and weather it will be too long for the little one, though. ===== Question: Is there a maximum time that the collar can be continuously worn? Answer: The collar should be taken off periodically (after 10-12h) and every time when you are not training the dog with the device. Please bear in mind that the product has a 1-year warranty and you can receive a refund/replacement with presenting your order number.
