VICTORIAN DOOR KNOB AND PLATE SET INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Before you begin, read the installation instructions below. Observe all local building and safety codes. For the following installation instructions it is assumed that holes for the handle and lock set are pre-drilled. Unpack and inspect the product for any shipping damages and ensure that none of the required pieces are missing. If you find damages, do not install. Contact Customer Service at 1.866.855.2284. If you need assistance or have questions while installing your door handle and plate set, contact Customer Service. We recommend consulting a professional if you are unfamiliar with installing hardware fixtures. TOOLS AND MATERIALS: Pencil Wood Chisel Screwdriver Drill DUMMY SET INSTALLATION 1. Remove the set screws on the door knobs (B) with the Allen wrench provided (C) to disconnect the knobs. A B 2. Position the dummy spindle (E) in the desired mounting location. C 3. Mark the mounting hole locations on the door. D 4. Drill pilot holes with the appropriate drill bit for your installation. 5. Secure the spindle to the door with the provided wood screws (D). E 6. Thread the decorative escutcheon (A) onto the dummy spindle. Secure to the door with screws. 7. Thread the door knob (B) onto the dummy spindle. 8. Place a set screw in the set screw hole on the side of the door knob. Use the provided Allen wrench (C) to secure. Victorian Door Knob & Plate Set Installation Instructions 1 PASSAGE SET INSTALLATION 1. Remove the set screws on the door knobs (B) with the Allen wrench provided (C) to disconnect the knobs. 2. Insert the latch bolt (E) into the side of the door. A B C Note: If the attached faceplate is not flush with the door, carefully chisel out (mortise) some of the door. D 3. Drill pilot holes (if necessary) and secure the latch bolt (E) and faceplate (F) to the door with two wood screws (H). 4. Push the latch bolt in, and insert the passage spindle (I) through the door. 5. Thread the decorative escutcheon (A) onto the spindle and attach to the door. 6. Thread the door knob (B) onto the spindle. 7. Place a set screw in the set screw hole on the side of the door knob. Use the provided Allen wrench (C) to secure. 8. To install the strike plate (G), mark the end of the bolt with lipstick or paint. Close the door, and turn the handle several times to mark the door frame. E F G H I Note: If the strike plate is not flush with the door, carefully chisel out (mortise) some of the door. 9. Secure the strike plate to the door frame with the remaining wood screws. Victorian Door Knob & Plate Set Installation Instructions 2 PRIVACY SET INSTALLATION 1. Insert the latch bolt (F) into the side of the door. Drill pilot holes (if necessary) and secure the latch bolt (F) and faceplate (E) to the door with two wood screws (H). 3. 4. Push the latch bolt in, and insert the passage spindle (J) through the door. Thread the exterior door knob (B), and decorative escutcheon (A) onto the latch bolt assembly. E F G H J 5. Fit the interior door knob, and escutcheon over the spindle, and align the screws holes. 6. Place a set screw in the set screw hole on the side of the door knob. Use the provided Allen wrench (C) to secure. I 7. Hand-thread the mounting screws through the exterior door knob, and tighten them firmly with a screwdriver. 8. Place a set screw in the set screw hole on the side of the door knob. Use the provided Allen wrench (C) to secure. 9. Insert the privacy pin (I) through the hole in the interior door knob into the hole of the latch bolt. Rotate clockwise to tighten. 10. To install the strike plate (G), mark the end of the bolt with lipstick or paint. Close the door, and turn the handle several times to mark the door frame. Note: If the strike plate is not flush with the door, carefully chisel out (mortise) some of the door. 11. Secure the strike box (J) and strike plate to the door frame with the remaining wood screws.
