Surveillance monitor Installation and operation manual (Model: CL-2226 color TFT LCD 7 inch monitor) Introduction Thank you for purchasing this product. This surveillance System is an easy-to-use and DIY installed video monitoring system. To obtain the best performance from this product, please read through this manual carefully. It will guide you to operate a full set of CL-2226 and how to connect with video camera and other AV VCR equipment. A. A closed-in porch or sheltered area is an ideal location.  DO NOT overload mains wall outlets or extension cords.  DO NOT install near to other electronic equipment.  DO NOT install near the source of acid oxides, ammonia, or any harmful gas. Monitor adjustment operation: Description of the function key for monitor < Power>: Press the < power> key on the keypad to turn the monitor ON or OFF. But this is not shutting off the power supply from AC/DC adapter. This only let the monitor into standby (power saving) status. LED light: When No signal input or input signal is not right, it becomes RED color. When input signal is right, it becomes green color; Press the QUAD button to enter QUAD display mode. Remote control Keypad Function 2.1 Ch1, Ch2, Ch3, Ch4 Press the respective button (CH1, CH2, CH3/ CH4,) to display the channel in FULL display mode. 2.2 Auto Press the AUTO button to sequentially display the turned-on video channels (CH1, CH2, CH3, CH4 and QUAD if turned on the Auto sequence setup mode) in the display window. 2.3 QUAD Press the QUAD button to enter QUAD display mode. 2.4 ZOOM In the full screen display mode, to press the “ZOOM” (*L) button will enter ZOOM in setup mode. The user can use the “up”, “down”, “-” and “+“buttons to move the ZOOM-in frame. To press the “QUAD” button zoom in two times the selected area. Users can press buttons “up”, “down”, “-” or “+“ to locate the “QUAD”M-in frame in the Zoom-in mode its results in a panning-like effect on the display window. Press the button “QUAD” again will return to the previous display mode. In the Zoom in setup mode, to press the “ZOOM” button the display will return to QUAD mode. 3 2.5 PIP Press button “PIP” to enter PIP setup mode. By default, the main window is set on channel 1 and sub-window on channel 2. While, the main window is flashing, the user can press the “up” or “-” button to select the video channel for main window. Then press the “QUAD” button to select the video channel for sub-window. After selecting the video channel for sub-window and pressing the “QUAD” button again, the sub-window will stop flashing. When sub-window flashing the user can press the “up” or “-” button to select position of sub-window in any one of four channels. To press the “PIP” button again, the display will return to QUAD display mode. Remark 4 channels must have video input for this step operation. 2.6 Freeze In the full screen display mode, to press the “Freeze” button will freeze/unfreeze the display window. 2.7 Play To press the “PLAY” button will switch the video source of four channels between Camera and VCR. Press the key to select the camera signal sources input and VCR signal input or output. It is a shortcut key to jump to input signal sources selection. 2.8 Menu Any time to press the “MENU” button will enter. 2.9 ESC Exit all set up mode. 3.0 Change mode (PAL or NTSC) To press the “P/N” key will switch the video mode between PAL and NTSC. After power on, mode will be auto detected if images in any channels. Mode will be the channel 1 image mode if it has image. If channel 1 has no image, mode will be channel 2 image mode and so on. If no images in 4 channels. Mode will be the last mode when power off. Users can use the buttons “Up”, “Down”, “+” and “-” to select the title characters. There are four titles, one for each channel, needed to be adjusted. There are at most 8 characters for each title. The title is displayed at fixed position, as shown on the Fig below. Press ESC button will return to the previous display window. Day/Time CH 31 CH 2 CH 3 CH 4 5 3.2 Date/Time setup ESC For the “Date/Time” setting, press the “MENU” button to enter Date/Time setup mode. Users can use the buttons “Up”, “Down”, “+” and “-” to set the Date and Time and Date/Time display format. Date setting: YY-MM-DD (Year-Month-Day): YY (Year): Range from 00 to 99 MM (Month): Range from 01 to12 DD (Day): Range from 01 to 31 Time setting: HH-MM-SS (Hour-Minute-Second): HH (Hour): Range from 00 to 24 MM (Minute): Range from 00 to 60 SS (Second): Range from 00 to 60 Date/Time format: YY/MM/DD (Year-Month-Day): MM/DD/YY (Month-Day-Year): DD/MM/YY (Day-Month-Year): OFF (Not display date/time) Press ESC button will return to the previous display window. 6 3.3 Decoder setup MENU: Decoder setup: Title setup Date/Time Decoder setup Sensitivity Event List Auto sequence Other KEY ESC LOCK ON/OFF Brightness: 00 Contrast: 00 Saturation: 00 Hue: 00 Brightness: 00 Contrast: 00 Saturation: 00 Hue: 00 Brightness: 00 Contrast: 00 Saturation: 00 Hue: 00 Brightness: 00 Contrast: 00 Saturation: 00 Hue: 00 For the “Decoder setup” setting, press the “MENU” button to enter Decoder setup mode. Users can use the buttons “Up”, “Down”, “+” and “-” to adjust the Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and Hue level for each decoder (camera). Decoder: There are 4 TV decoders relative to 4 video input sources. Each decoder has its own setup items of brightness, contrast, saturation and hue. Users can use “Up” and “Down” buttons to select the setup items. Brightness: There are 64 brightness levels for each channel, level “63” represents the highest brightness and “0” represents the lowest. Users can use “+” and “-” buttons to adjust the brightness level. Contrast: There are 64 contrast levels for each channel, level “63” represents the highest contrast and “0” represents the lowest. Users can use “+” and “-” buttons to adjust the contrast level. Saturation: There are 64 saturation levels for each channel, level “63” represents the highest saturation and “0” represents the lowest. Users can use “+” and “-” buttons to adjust the saturation level. Hue: There are 64 hue levels for each channel, level “63” represents the highest hue and “0” represents the lowest. Users can use “+” and “-” buttons to adjust the hue level. Press ESC button will return to the previous display window. 7 3.4 Sensitivity setup MENU: Sensitivity: CH1:OFF Title setup Date/Time Decoder setup Sensitivity Event List Auto sequence Other KEY LOCK ON/OFF ESC CH2:OFF CH3:OFF CH4:OFF For the “Sensitivity” setting, press the “MENU” button to enter into the sensitivity setup mode for motion detection. Users can use the buttons “Up”, “Down”, “+” and “-” to adjust the sensitivity level for each channel. There are 8 sensitivity levels for each channel, level “7” represents the highest level of sensitivity and “0” switches off the motion detection. There are two pages for events recording. Each page contains 10 records of Alarm, video Loss or Motion detection. Press button “Up” or “Down” to switch the display of two page records. Press ESC button will return to the previous display window. 8 3.6 Auto sequence setup MENU: Title setup Date/Time Decoder setup Sensitivity Event List Auto sequence Other KEY ESC LOCK ON/OFF Auto sequence: CH1: ON CH2: ON CH3: ON CH4: ON QUAD: ON Time: 05sec For the “Auto sequence” setting, press the “MENU” button to enter auto sequence setup mode. Users can use “Up” or “Down” button to select the item and use the “+” and “-” buttons to adjust the ON/OFF mode for full screen display of each channel and Quad display, and the time duration. The range of time duration is from 0 to 99 seconds. This time is also the automatically switching time duration between CH1-CH4. Press ESC button will return to the previous display window. 3.7 Buzzer/Mirror and Border setup MENU: Title setup Date/Time Decoder setup Sensitivity Event List Auto sequence Other KEY LOCK ON/OFF ESC Other: 1.Buzzer: Loss: 20 Motion: 20 Alarm: 20 2.Mirror: CH1: OFF CH2: CH3: CH4: OFF OFF OFF 3.Border: OFF/White/Black For the “Other” setting, press the “MENU” button to enter other item setup mode. Users can use “Up” or “Down” button to select the setup item and use the “+” and “-” buttons to adjust the time duration for buzzer, the ON/OFF mode for mirror channel and color of window border. 9 1. Buzzer: Use these settings to set the duration of buzzer active when video loss, motion detected and an alarm occurs. The range of time duration is from 1 to 99 seconds. 2. Mirror: Use these settings to choose whether displaying the mirror image for each respective channel. 3. Border: Use this setting to choose whether displaying the window border and the color of border. Press ESC button will return to the previous display window. .Standard wires connection: Fig.8 10 1. Follow the marking, connect the camera 1 output AV wires to color TFT LCD monitor rear terminal RJ11 socket and camera 2 output wires to color TFT LCD monitor rear terminal RJ11 socket separately. Camera 3 and camera 4 connect wire is same operation. 2. Press “power” button on the monitor once, the image of channels 1 to 4 will show on the screen and audio sound will be heard from the speaker. If the camera is placed too close to the monitor, some feed back noise may generate. To avoid this problem, please try to place camera and monitor further apart and or reduce the sound volume by adjusting the “volume” adjust knob. 3. Use the Alarm bell terminal can extension high power alarm bell. But need to connect same the alarm bell rating adapter. 6. The user can connect the surveillance monitor to VCR for real time monitoring, and they also can press “monitor / VCR” of remote control key to replay the record on monitor screen. 7. Press “power” button again to turn off the monitor. 8. The monitor can be wall mounted or placed on the table top. Wall mount need leveling against the wall. If put on the table, you must add the plastic stand under the monitor (see the accessories). Operation Precautions  DO NOT drop or shake the unit or subject the unit to shock.  DO NOT clean the unit with benzene, thinners, or any solvents. Wipe off dust and marks with a soft cloth which is slightly moistened in mild soapy water.  DO disconnect from the main power if the unit is not being used for a while.  DO NOT connect the unit to digital video system or mouse socket. WARNING -To prevent injury, this apparatus must be securely attached to the wall in accordance with the installation instructions. -Power adaptor shall remain readily operable after installation. -The unit may malfunction when there is radio interference appeared on the 11 power line. Please clear the camera lens first. 8) There are much stripe, or big twinkling point on the screen, and the color turns to dark Check whether the monitor is disturbed by other strong radiation or not.
