PROFESSIONAL EDITING NEW! Efficient 3- and 4-point cut Thanks to the 3-point cut function in MAGIX Video Pro X3, it's much easier to insert video clips into the timeline. Users simply specify where in the arrangement the clip should be inserted and determine a start marker for the file they want to import. The computer then automatically calculates the cut points and fills in the gaps in the timeline precisely. Innovative 4-point cut is one of the new features in MAGIX Video Pro X3. By assigning in and out points in the source monitor and the timeline, clips can be inserted into sections automatically via timestretching.
MultiCam editing function In MultiCam editing mode, footage from up to nine different cameras recording the same event such as a wedding, concert, or a theatre performance can be synchronized. Editing is intuitive and the perspective can be changed in real time with a simple mouseclick. Absolutely unique on the market: MAGIX Video Pro X3 finally makes time-consuming and manual synchronization of video footage using visual and audio cues a thing of the past. The MultiCam editing function automatically synchronizes video objects using their audio material. The audio tracks are compared based on similarity by using simple acoustic cues such as the clap of a clapperboard.
NEW! Full Stereo3D support MAGIX Video Pro X3 features a complete Stereo 3D workflow: stereoscopic footage from personal 3D camera systems and all standard Stereo 3D camcorders can be imported into the open timeline of MAGIX Video Pro X3 with ease. The 3D footage is then synchronized and aligned automatically. If desired, the image offset can also be animated manually and via keyframes in order to compensate for unwanted visual effects. The program's options for 3D post production are just as extensive as those for editing 2D material: numerous stereo fades and a combination 2D/3D program monitor allow users to edit 3D footage just as quickly and efficiently as 2D material. The program offers extensive options for exporting the finished 3D movie, for example, as a side-by-side or anaglyph video in all standard codecs. The movie can also be burned to Blu-ray Disc™ or posted on YouTube® using the direct uploading function.
3-way color correction Primary color correction The primary 3-way color correction function features separate color wheels for shadows, mids and lights as well as professional exposure control. Smooth out color errors, highlight naturally present colors, or design a special movie look.
Secondary color correction in real time The secondary color correction feature also enables 3-way correction, allowing you to edit shadows, mids, and brights separately for the foreground, background, and in an extra master layer. The foreground layer features an easy-to-use eyedropper tool. Change, accentuate, or suppress hues - the blue of the sky, the green of a field, or the red of a dress. Thanks to secondary color correction, it's easy to apply the "Leave color" effect (color pass): e.g. red is the only color that is retained in the image, while all other color shades are converted into black and white.
Advanced title editor The integrated title editor offers extensive options for formatting and designing title elements using image positioning, shadow gradients, and 3D effects. Thanks to a wide range of included templates for animated titles and captions, it's a lot easier to create impressive title animations. All templates can be customized manually and provide a perfect base for quick video editing.
NEW! Effects masks To use video effects even more flexibly, MAGIX Video Pro X3 supports masks that allow effects to be applied to selected areas. This enables you to easily select individual image sections and create selective blurs, artistic color accents, or esthetic distortions.
3D title effects The integrated MAGIX 3D Maker transforms any text and shape into modern 3D graphics and animations. A wide range of designs and templates in different styles, plus intuitive real-time editing and easy-to-use tools ensure convincing results. With MAGIX Video Pro X3 it's easy to create dynamic title animations, theme-based intros & outros, elaborate image objects as well as chapter and DVD menu titles.
Advanced video editing Timestretching In MAGIX Video Pro X3, you can change the length of your video and audio objects simply by stretching and squashing them with the mouse. Audio objects maintain their original pitch.
Image stabilization Built-in image stabilization balances undesired picture movement. It moves the image in the opposite direction in accordance with the wrong movements. This produces unusable edges in the footage that are cut off automatically, and black strips replace the edge of the shifted picture, which are then removed using a zoom shot. The result: a clearly more stable, almost imperceptibly larger picture.
Precise keyframe functions with Bézier curves The keyframe editor enables extensive control over video effects in two steps: quick access to objectbased effects settings in the Media Pool and advanced editing with precise Bézier curve control directly on the timeline.
Improved! Audio editing for broadcast quality MAGIX Video Pro X3, which is based on Samplitude's® high-end audio engine, meets professional audio editing standards. Many broadcast-quality effects like DeClipping, DeNoiser, DeHisser, equalizer, compressor, Stereo FX, reverb, pitchshifting, and more help you optimize your audio tracks. These can now also be exported individually in MAGIX Video Pro X3.
Keyframe-animated audio effects Thanks to the perfectly arranged audio effects palette, it is now even easier for users to automate audio effects via keyframes.
Dolby®Digital 5.1 Surround sound With the Dolby® Digital 5.1 Creator you can create real Surround sound with full channel control and mix it live with the audio mixer.
Master audio level display Perfect for preventing distortions or large volume fluctuations: thanks to the level display that is integrated into the timeline, the volume of the movie can be controlled at all times.
Real-time audio mixer MAGIX Video Pro X3 includes a real-time mixer with a master effects section. Besides effects editing of each audio object, every channel strip can be equipped with separate track effects such as equalizer, compressor, delay as well as DirectX and VST plug-ins.
Sample-precise audio editing Frequently the 1/25 second grid in video editing programs is not detailed enough for audio editing. MAGIX Video Pro X3 features sample-precise audio object editing (e.g. 1/48,000 s) for precise cuts, transitions, and video image synchronization.
INTUITIVE WORKFLOW Open timeline Thanks to the open timeline, you can import and edit different video formats in SD or HD resolution such as DV, HDV, or AVCHD without having to adjust the files to the project settings or convert the files into a proprietary intermediate format.
NEW! Preview rendering To enable smooth and efficient video editing at all times, MAGIX Video Pro X3 supports preview rendering for selected areas. This allows performance-heavy areas in the arrangement to be calculated quickly and smoothly.
NEW! Revised user interface with a modern design The user interface has been modernized graphically and now includes clearly laid-out dialogs. With its screen design, MAGIX Video Pro X3 meets its goal of enabling the fastest possible workflow: functions such as the recording dialog are even faster and more intuitive.
Improved! Edit AVCHD video in its native environment MAGIX Video Pro X3 enables native editing of AVCHD footage. Thanks to the native integration of the AVCHD format, Video Pro X3 is able to display a real-time preview of the recordings during editing. The original format remains unchanged and can be edited without compromising quality. New in Video Pro X3: Footage in 50 and 60p can now also be imported, edited, and exported.
NEW! Import dialog for memory cards • Now it's even easier to import footage from video DSRLs and camcorders that record on tapeless storage media (P2, DVCPRO, AVC-Intra) into MAGIX Video Pro X3. The import dialog offers filter functions, an automatic sorting function for footage and a preview function even prior to transferring the data, thus enabling individual file management even during import and a more clearly laid-out editing workflow.
NEW! Smart Rendering for AVCHD When exporting projects including AVCHD material, only those clips will be recalculated that were edited by adding titles or effects. All other files are used directly without the need for recalculation. This reduces rendering times when burning AVCHD or Blu-ray Discs™ by up to 90%.
IMPROVED! Intelligent mouse mode The different mouse modes allow you to quickly close gaps in the arrangement. With a single click, all subsequent objects can be selected and moved on one or all tracks. Functions such as timestretching, trimming, and audio scrubbing can be carried out intuitively with a simple mouse-click.
NEW! Advanced search for gaps To detect undesired black areas between clips, MAGIX Video Pro X3 includes a special function to search for gaps. Simply start a search and the program will list all gaps in the arrangement, which can then be selected and edited.
M Multi-processor support MAGIX Video Pro X3 uses the advantages of modern processor architecture to shorten rendering times of complex projects on multi-processor and multi-core systems. Editing of HDV material is distributed uniformly on up to eight CPU cores to produce results faster than ever before. GPU hardware acceleration Besides using the resources of the latest highperformance processors, the optimized real-time architecture of MAGIX Video X3 also uses graphics cards effectively. This gain in speed is noticeable especially when decoding HD videos or calculating transitions, effects, and video tracks.
Flexible program adjustment MAGIX Video Pro X3 offers a flexible user interface which can be adjusted to any working situation thanks to savable window layouts. Both preview monitors can be enlarged to fullscreen and moved around, e.g. to use multiple monitors more effectively. Even the project folder, the timeline, and the Media Pool can be scaled and moved as separate windows.
Exchange with other post-production programs The integrated alpha channel support of AVI files in MAGIX Video Pro X3 enables sequences from compositing programs such as After Effects™ or Jahshaka to be imported. It's just as easy to insert Photoshop files including multiple layers into MAGIX Video Pro X3 projects, even without the need for conversion.
Customizable keyboard shortcuts You can specify the keyboard shortcuts for all of MAGIX Video Pro X3's menu functions however you like. This allows you to adjust, change, and complement the keyboard shortcuts according to your needs and workflows. This feature is especially useful for users switching from other video editing programs. NEW: we have improved the shortcut presets with even easier and more intuitive commands for quick and efficient workflows.
Synchronization with external devices MAGIX Video Pro X3 can be synchronized with external audio devices via MIDI Machine Control (MMC) and can be used as slave or master. Receive MMC commands (slave): MAGIX Video Pro X3 follows jog shuttle operations, fast forward and rewind commands of external devices. MAGIX Video Pro X3 receives the current playback position of the device and displays it as an additional blue cursor in the timeline. Send MMC commands (Master): MAGIX Video Pro X3 can be used as Master for controlling the MIDI environment. The external device follows the time position every time the playback cursor moves to a certain position within the arrangement.
Comparison mode in the source monitor MAGIX Video Pro X3 features a comparison mode, which allows you to check your video material before and after editing. This way, you can always keep track of your effects editing. You can compare the raw footage with the video that has been edited using effects, as well as individual effects results with each other and with previous or subsequent versions in the arrangement.
EXTENSIVE FORMAT SUPPORT Footage from different sources MAGIX Video Pro X3 supports a wide range of recording sources such as camcorders (DV, HDV, AVCHD, DVD, hard drive, memory card), webcams, TV cards, screen capturing, and USB video converters.
Screen capturing The main function of screen capturing is to create tutorials or screencasts: with the screen capturing function in Video Pro X3, screen contents from currently playing programs or online media can be captured easily and then compressed to save space or used loss-free in AVI format.
IMPROVED! Compatibility with all standard video formats MAGIX Video Pro X3 is compatible with all standard video formats. Users can choose between standard SD and HD formats such as DV, HDV, or AVCHD (lite) and professional camcorder formats such as DVCPRO, AVC-Intra, NXCAM, or XDCAM. Importing is now even more flexible: the newly laid out recording dialog for tapeless media lets you preview, presort and import clips directly into the timeline – now with full P2 support.
Optional DVCPRO50/DVCPROHD support Even more professional: MAGIX Video Pro X3 supports footage from DVCPRO50 and DVCPROHD cameras, producing movies with the highest possible technical quality. Thanks to its extremely high data rates and outstanding image quality, the DVCPRO50/DVCPROHD codec has managed to assert itself in TV broadcasting stations and professional production companies. Requires feebased activation.
Optional AVC-Intra codec support With data rates of 100Mbit/s, Intraframe compression and 4:2:2 color scanning, recording in AVC-Intra format is the secret successor to the DVCPROHD codec. MAGIX Video Pro X3 supports AVC-Intra after a fee-based activation, including an optimized import dialog for P2 memory cards.
AVCHD lite support Complete support of the new AVCHD substandard for camcorders and digital photo cameras. AVCHD lite supports video footage of up to 720p and may be imported without difficulty into Video Pro X3 for further editing.
