CANON DIGITAL CAMCORDER Description
The canon digital camcorder is high-deinition with touch screen controls and stereo sound. It can record to internal memory or an optional memory card, and the recordings may be edited using computer based editing programs provided in the kit. Digital audio is recorded with a built-in stereo microphone and an external microphone may be connected. It has a fully automatic mode with settings that may be adjusted using touch-screen controls. The view screen lips out and rotates for easy viewing when recording and playback. It also has a touch-screen for changing settings and functions.
It has a built-in stereo microphone on the front of the camera records digital audio. An external microphone or wireless microphone system may be connected to the input jack, which will override the built-in microphone.
The camera may be hand-held or mounted on a tripod for steady image. For hand-held use, slide your hand into the hand strap on right side. Zoom lens controls located on top of the camcorder provide long shots or close-ups. It is speed-sensitive and can be zoomed slowly or quickly, as needed. TRIPOD For professional quality video shots, the following tripod features are provided:
Bubble Level: A small level is mounted on the tripod head, and the camera should be set level before recording.
Pedestal: Use crank to raise or lower the pedestal. The lever at top of neck locks at any height. Adjust the camera height so the subject's eyes or the horizon are about 1/3 from the top of the screen. Pan Lever: A large control lever swivels the camera left and right. To loosen, twist the lever left and then right to lock in place. Locking the knob at the base of neck locks it in position.
Vertical Tilt: A control lever tilts the camera up and down. The knob on right side may be loosened to adjust tilt and tightened in place when set at the needed tilt. Horizontal Tilt: The horizontal tilt knob tilts the camera head left or right. Loosen the locking knob on left and lift head to intended position. Tighten the knob to lock it in place. SHOTGUN MICROPHONE Description The Azden SGM-1X is a highly directional shotgun microphone with low noise and a wide, full-range frequency response. It picks up sound from directly where it is pointed and rejects ambient noise from the sides and rear. The microphone should be aimed directly at the subject being recorded. It may be handheld or mounted on a telescoping microphone boom or any standard microphone stand using the supplied shock mount.
The removable foam windscreen should be ON for outdoor use when using with a boom or in noisy places. It may be removed for quiet locations, indoor use, or when using a microphone stand. Low frequency roll-off switch is set to lat position for full frequency. It is also set to bass roll-off position to eliminate low frequency rumble and noise from electronic equipment or ambient room noises. A shock mount is included to mount to a standard microphone stand or telescoping microphone boom. LOW FREQUENCY ROLL-OFF SWITCH ON-OFF SWITCH
