CONGRATULATIONS SERIALIZED COMBINATION CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PURCHASE OF THE BRENTHAVEN SERIALIZED COMBINATION LOCK. Our four-digit fixed combination lock helps protect your laptop from theft and also eliminates the need for keys. The preset combination is also impossible to be reset, thus offering additional security. This package contains the following items: • Brenthaven Serialized combination lock #4119 • Brenthaven Security Base Plates #4120 (included with some bundles or available to order) locking button 1 Locate the combination dials and windows on the lock. 2 The preset combination appears on a sticker that is attached to the backside of this instructional guide. 3 Turn the dials to disguise the combination. TESTING THE COMBINATION combination dials combination windows Before attaching the lock to your laptop, do the following steps: 1 Turn the dials to return to the serialized combination. 2 Check that the locking button depresses completely. brenthaven.com brenthaven.com SECURING THE SERIALIZED COMBINATION LOCK Select an object to which you will secure your laptop with the Brenthaven Serialized combination lock. 1 Take the looped end of the cable and wrap it around or through a secure anchor point. 2 Feed the lock through the looped end of the cable as shown. LOCKING THE SERIALIZED COMBINATION LOCK 1 Using the dials, enter the preset combination. Line up the combination so that it appears in the windows. 2 Press and hold the locking button to align the locking teeth. 3 Insert the serialized combination lock into your laptop’s lock slot and release the locking button. 4 Turn the dials to conceal your combination. UNLOCKING THE SERIALIZED COMBINATION LOCK 1 Using the dials, enter the correct preset combination. 2 The combination code will appear in the windows. 3 Press and hold the locking button to realign the locking teeth. 4 Remove the Brenthaven Serialized combination lock from your laptop’s lock slot. USING THE SECURITY BASE PLATE WARRANTY 1 Choose a solid location to attach the Security Base Plate. If you plan to use the two screws, you can use the base plate as a template to pre-drill the holes. YOUR SERIALIZED COMBINATION CODE 2 Remove the backing on the base plate to expose the adhesive and place it on the prepared location. If desired, secure the base with two screws. SECURITY BASE PLATE The optional Security Base Plate is a great solution for anchoring your laptop to a permanent location. brenthaven.com For lockout situations, please contact your IT administrator and provide them your serial code. They will be able to retrieve the combination unlock code. 4 Place the Security Base Plate cover as shown and slide it to the left or right to secure it in place. 5 Insert your Brenthaven Serialized combination lock.
