VINTAGE RECORD PLAYER REFURBISHMENT, SAFETY & INSPECTION RECORD   (page 1 of 3) Product details DANSETTE STEREPHONIC A35 PINK/CREAM C/W SPUTNIK LEGS P3723 R16 EXTREMELY RARE MAKE/MODEL SERIAL NUMBER APPROX YEAR MADE CIRCA 1962/63 BSR MONARCH TURNTABLE NEW CERAMIC STEREO: SC-11M STYLUS: ST20 (Maplin HR10L DSC-1025) VALVE 2 X ECL82 + EZ80 (Rectifier) CARTRIDGE/STYLUS AMP: VALVE/SOLID STATE Brief schedule of work undertaken Main cabinet & remote speaker cabinet completely stripped, cleaned and reassembled. Amplifier assembly fully serviced: cleaned valve bases, volume, tone and balance controls. Repaired/re-soldered dry joints to RH channel valve base. Replaced 2 x 0.01uF/600V anode to grid AC coupling capacitors (L+R hand channels) along with 25uF cathode decoupling electrolytic capacitors and a number of out of tolerance carbon resistors. Fitted brand new stereo ceramic cartridge + stylus (SC-11M Maplins HR10L – DSC-1025). Fitted new 3 core, 3A mains cord and carried out additional safety earth bonding to amplifier chassis ass’y and record player deck. Replaced RH channel to remote speaker output transformer due to shorted turns (pre-used). New speaker cloths fitted to main and remote speaker cabinets (new traditional vintage). Replaced control knob nomenclatures and tadpole ‘T’ profile piping to main and remote speaker cabinet. Stripped BSR Monarch record deck assembly, degreased, reassembled and adjusted. Enhanced amplifier chassis assembly mechanical support to baseboard. Remote (RH channel) speaker cabinet rewired with longer cabling – circa 4.5 metres. There are only a few very minor blemishes/scuffs around edges but in no way do they detract from the units’ beautiful overall condition and is testimony to its originality. The circular control knob nomenclatures have all been renewed due to excessive wear. All cabinet furniture items were removed prior to cleaning with good results. New traditional vintage speaker cloth has been fitted to the main and remote speaker enclosures as well as new gold tadpole ‘T’ profile piping (original badly discoloured and damaged). The turntable unit is virtually blemish free with the turntable mat still in a good condition. The unit is supplied 4 x original black ‘Sputnik-style’ legs which are in good condition for their age. In all, a beautiful, extremely rare and mostly original eye-catching iconic Dansette and great piece of music history!
