Virtual networking of offline doors SALTO Virtual Network integration in IQ MultiAccess and IQ SystemControl
Networking of several doors without the usual wiring effort – this vision becomes reality with SALTO Virtual Network (SVN). By means of offline door cylinders and door fittings in connection with IQ MultiAccess or IQ SystemControl complex access control systems can be established. In opposite to traditional offline solutions, where the door components must be regularly fed with the latest access authorizations, in this variant those data are on the data carrier. They will be updated regularly (at least once a day) at a central spot via a reader with write function which is online connected to the SALTO software. Information on disabled data carriers will be written onto each data carrier booking at the online reader and distributed to all doors the data carrier is presented to. Thereby a misusage of a found or stolen transponder can be prevented to the greatest possible extent. If a disabled transponder is presented to the online reader, it will automatically be blocked for the whole system. So any access to the object is prevented. If the disabled transponder is still in the building and presented to a door that already has got the barring information by another transponder, it will also be marked as invalid and has no access further doors.
In return, events (bookings, battery state) of the doors will be written onto the data carrier and transferred from there to the SALTO software and IQMA / IQSC when the transponder is read the next time at the online reader. Data updates of every individual door within the daily routines via a programming device (PDA, laptop) does not apply, as the data are on the transponders and not in the door cylinders / fittings. Blacklists are distributed by the users´ transponders, door events will be retransferred to the access control software. As data have to be written onto the data carriers, at the moment this function is available with mifare transponders only (classic / DESFire EV1), LEGIC is in preparation. This option consists of the SALTO software, which is to be installed together with IQ MultiAccess / IQ SystemControl, inclusive an interface for data exchange between IQMA / IQSC and SALTO. The end user still works in IQMA / IQSC only and does not have to learn or operate any additional application.

Doors where wiring is not possible or wanted can be equipped with electronic door cylinders or fittings as an alternative. Besides a pure offline or online solution there is the possibility of a virtual network. Here the access authorizations are not stored at the door components but on the individual data carriers. They will be updated by regularly presenting at an online reader with write function and online connection. At this also information on invalid data carriers will be distributed to all doors a data carrier is read.

Configurator Cylinders and fittings are available in different types, lengths of profile cylinders (inside/outside), colours, surfaces and handle variants, which can be individually composed via a configuration tool.

All components will be produced customer specific according to this information. Lead time is ca. 38 days. The SALTO software is running as a service in the background. Access authorizations at SVN doors will be defined via separate room/time zones in the personnel master file of IQMA / IQSC. A combination with access authorizations of wired doors is possible at any time. On the card only the data of SVN doors are stored.

Connection of the SALTO components The online read/write station consists of a wall reader with write function (WRM9000) inclusive the corresponding control pcb for SVN and Ethernet connection (corresponding to CU50ENSVN without inputs and without outputs). Via this connection the reader communicates with the SALTO software and writes the authorizations according to the entries of IQMA / IQSC onto the transponders presented. Reader and control pcb are integrated in the so called UBOX9000. Additionally, a Wiegand interface to the
reader will be provided by the adaptor pcb (CUADAP) which is included in the range of delivery. Using the Honeywell converter pcb (027901) the Wiegand output can be transformed to RS-485 format. Thus, the SALTO online reader can also be used as an access control reader at the ACS-8 module bus, at an IK3 evaluation unit or at an access control door module in parallel to its update functionality. If transponders are authorized accordingly, the IACP can be armed/disarmed by presenting the transponder twice to the online reader.

By help of this box, the online reader can be connected to the SALTO software via Ethernet. The Wiegand interface is used for a connection of this reader to the ACS-8 module bus, the IK3 evaluation unit or the access control door module in parallel. For the transformation from Wiegand to RS-485 the Honeywell converter pcb (item no. 027901) is required. Using the converter pcb for connection to: • IK3 evaluation unit / access control door module • or ACS-8 • and so to be used as a reader or switching device

Accessoires With installation only once the door data have to be entered in the SALTO software and distributed to the doors via a mobile programming. The programming device PPD800 helps the installer for initial setting up the doors. The end-user can use it for emergency openings (if required) and to read out the event data of the doors.
Programming device
The encoding device EC90EN works as a dongle and must be connected at least once per project. Here the transponders will be initialized with the SALTO segment on initial setup. Furthermore, transponders of the blacklist can be reactivated only via this device. Connection via Ethernet. The encoding device EC90USB does not provide a dongle function. It can be used in addition to EC90EN. Connection via USB.
