Overview P-EA150 is a manageable Eo PDH aggregation gateway which is equipped with STM-1 interface. The technology which combines EoPDH and PDH-over-SDH is called Ethernet over PDH over SDH, or EoPoS. EoPoS is one of many techniques that provided Ethernet connectivity over non-Ethernet networks. EoPoS is a standardized method for transporting native Ethernet frames over the existing telecommunications optical infrastructure by leveraging both the established PDH and SDH transport technologies.

EoPoS is a standardized method for transporting native Ethernet frames over a SONET/SDH network, by first mapping into one or more PDH tributary (E1). The tributaries can then be dropped from a legacy ADM, delivered to the customer premise, and the PDH links resolved back to an Ethernet connection by a piece of equipment supporting EoPDH. The technologies used in EoPoS include GFP frame encapsulation, Ethernet Mapping, Virtual Concatenation, Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme, and Management Messaging (OAM). Common practices in EoPoS equipment also include the tagging of traffic for separation into virtual networks, prioritization of user traffic. High Aggregation Capability The aggregation capability of P-EA150 upto 32/64 VCGs (depends on the series), equals to 64 remote units which can be deployed at any place where E1 resource can reach. Compared with traditional point-to-point application, the aggregation solution can dramatically reduce the CAPEX and OPEX for carriers and ISPs. Plus versatile remote EoPDH converter SVPEx8 Series, P-EA150/P-EA600 is an ideal solution for various IP based service with high performance but without abandoning legacy network.
SDH Optical Interface Safe and Sound Protection 1+1 line protection is suitable for performing point-to-point application by adding a redundant fiber link as backup. When the main link is cut off, the mechanism can switch over in 50 msec. P-EA150 also provides Multiplex Section Protection (MSP) for Ring application, plus Sub-Network Connection Protection (SNCP) for the tributary units, double protection mechanism presents a more secure solution for the carrier class requirements. The GE interface adopts GE trunk technology which can distribute also Ethernet traffic over 2 ports dynamically.P-EA150 provide GFP/VCAT protocol to ensure the smooth traffic transfer by bounding amounts of E1, thus when one link is down, the mechanism can dynamically adjust the bandwidth by deleting the fault E1 link without terminating service. Easy Management EasyEMS adopts intuitive Windows-based interface to present easy management for the maintenance staff. All the elements including aggregators and remote SVPEs will be well organized according to the real connection. The configuration interface is specially designed for the convenience the high speed job.
