Quick Start Guide P/N 7552-00 1 UNPACKING THE BOX CONTENTS You will need the following parts to complete the installation of your Xcelerator IP START HERE AC POWER ADAPTER It is strongly recommended that you follow these step by step instructions to set up and quickly start to use your Xcelerator IP gateway. ANTENNA Documentation XCELERATOR IP GATEWAY 2 GATEWAY STAND DOCUMENTATION CD INSTALLING THE XCELERATOR IP GATEWAY If the Xcelerator IP gateway is to be wall mounted, print a copy of the wall mount template from the documentation CD for use in lining up the screw mounts with the mounting holes in the gateway. To mount the Xcelerator IP on a table or other flat surface, insert the Xcelerator IP gateway unit into the provided stand. Next, mount the antenna to the threaded connection on the upper side of the Xcelerator IP gateway chassis. Once mounted, the antenna must be fully extended for proper operation as depicted in the diagram. 3 POWER THE XCELERATOR IP GATEWAY Once the Xcelerator IP has been mounted, attach the AC power adapter to the “Power In” connector on the interface panel of the gateway. Plug the AC power adapter into a grounded 120VAC power source. Move the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. A blue LED above “Power” on the front of the Xcelerator IP will indicate the gateway is powered and ready to continue with the installation of the unit. 4 STARTING TO USE THE XCELERATOR IP Attach a PC or laptop to the Xcelerator IP via one of the Ethernet ports or via a wireless connection. Open your internet browser and type in 192.168.1.1. This is the default address of the Xcelerator IP Admin interface. The default password is “admin” and the default user name is “admin”. On new installations, or if the system is defaulted, the Xcelerator IP will start with a configuration Wizard to assist with the installation. Refer to the Administrator Guide for details on the programming of the Xcelerator IP. 5 CONNECTIONS A detailed description of the operation of these ports can be found in the Administrator Guide on the documentation CD included with the Xcelerator IP gateway. RJ45 Wide Area Network connection for cable modem/ DSL modem 10/100baseT Connectors for IP2007 phones or Ethernet switch RJ11 Connector for Analog SLT phone or fax machine Switch or POE Switch AC Power connector ON/OFF Switch Note: Refer to the IP2007 User Guide for installation and use of the IP2007 telephone Standalone PCs can be routed through the Xcelerator IP 6 Analog CO Telephone lines IP2007 can be connected to Xcelerator IP or hub/switch The IP2007 contains a 10/100 switch which allows for connecting a PC to the network via the phone’s Ethernet connection STATUS INDICATORS The Xcelerator IP status LED lamps provide real time indicators of the operation of the gateway and can be used to assist with troubleshooting. When the specific lamp is lit, it is indicating: Transmission and receipt of data on the individual ports Analog SLT port is in use TELCO Trunk is in use Wireless Access Point is active Power ON WAN port connected
