Functional Characteristics Microprocessor: The VMICPCI-7757 is based on either the Intel ultra low voltage Celeron processor or low voltage Pentium III processor. The enhanced Celeron processor has 256 Kbyte of on-die L2 cache, while the Pentium III processor has 512 Kbyte of L2 cache. The μFCBGA package processors offer thermal characteristics that are well suited for embedded systems operating over a wide range of temperatures. DRAM Memory: The VMICPCI-7757 accepts one 144-pin SODIMM PC133 module for a maximum memory configuration of 512 Mbyte. BIOS: The VMICPCI-7757 System BIOS and video BIOS are provided in reprogrammable memory.
subsystems to analog data for the monitor. The GMCH’s integrated 230 MHz RAMDAC provides resolution support up to 1,600x1,200. Circuitry is incorporated to limit the switching noise generated by the DACs. Three 8-bit DACs provide the RGB signals to the monitor. Ordering Options VMICPCI-7757
AGP graphics controller. A fully functional, integrated 2D/3D graphics accelerator provides pixel processing and rendering with display resolutions of up to 1,600 x 1,200 supported. The video output is provided through the CompactPCI J4 connector. The display function contains a RAM-based Digital-to-Analog Converter (RAMDAC) that transforms the digital data from the graphics and video

Non-interlaced mode is supported. Gamma correction can be applied to the display output. The GMCH supports a wide range of resolutions, color depths, and refresh rates via a programmable dot clock that has a maximum frequency of 230 MHz. CompactFlash: The VMICPCI-7757 includes a CompactFlash socket on the assembly. The CompactFlash may be configured as the boot device through the BIOS boot device set up. The CompactFlash, as an ordering option is available up to 1 Gbyte of storage space. IDE Interface: The VMICPCI-7757 provides an IDE interface for hard disk drive support. The IDE interface allows support of several types of data transfers: Programmed I/O (PIO), 8237 style DMA, Ultra ATA-33, Ultra ATA-66 and Ultra ATA-100. Ethernet Controller: The VMICPCI-7757 provides a front panel connection to either 10BaseT or 100BaseTX LAN using the Intel 82551ER Ethernet controller. A standard RJ45 connector is provided on
Parallel Ports: The VMICPCI-7757 provides a full IEEE 1284 parallel port through the backplane connectors. PMC Expansion Sites: The VMICPCI-7757 provides two individual IEEE 1386.1 5V PCI mezzanine card (PMC) expansion sites. This expansion capability allows the addition of peripherals offered for PMC applications. Keyboard and Mouse Ports: The VMICPCI-7757 supports a PS/2 keyboard and mouse through the CompactPCI J4 connector using the optional VMIACC-0580 backplane adapter. Hardware Reset: A hardware reset switch is accessible from the front panel. Programmable Timer: The VMICPCI-7757 provides the user with two 16-bit timers and two 32-bit timers. These timers are mapped in PCI memory space, are completely software programmable, and can generate PCI interrupts.
