EVI-HD1 Product Information Letter (preliminary) Purpose This document provides product information of the new EVI-HD1 camera.

Videoconferencing Main Features •
2 Million pixels CMOS sensor The 2 million pixels CMOS provides superior picture quality of the full high definition picture.

Silent, high-speed pan and tilt action By adopting the DD motor mechanism, in addition to high-speed pan/tilt action, improvement of the acoustic noise reduction mechanism lets you use the camera for a variety of purposes.

Compatible with multiple formats from NTSC/PAL to full HD The camera allows you to shoot an image using the 1080i full high definition video format. The camera can output 14 formats, including 8 type of HD and 6 type SD video format.

Multiple interfaces Live video output can be achieved through various interfaces; composite, S-video, component and HD-SDI. The camera can be controlled through VISCA.

High-quality image transmission via the digital interface (HD-SDI) The camera outputs HD image, conforming to the SMPTE 292M serial digital interface standard. This allows long distance transmission of high-quality camera images.

VISCA camera protocol supported The camera is equipped with an RS-232C communication interface. The baud rate of either 38400 bps or 9600 bps can be used. This allows you to remotely control the camera at a high communication speed.
Available Models •
EVI-HD1
This is the normal Sony SES model, with only power adaptor and no cables supplied. Available now.

PCSA-EVIHD1
This is the Sony PSE model, with power adaptor and the following cables: TBD (The actual supplied cable set will be confirmed at later stage) Availability will be confirmed at later stage (ETA is within Q1 FY07).

Videoconferencing Selection of Video Output Signal Changing the position of the “system select” switch with a screwdriver can set the video output format. The EVI-HD1 camera needs to be reset (power off/on) to make the new output format effective.
