Model No VWS-218 Adjustable width rack shelf Versatile rackmount shelf supports non-rackmount equipment such as consumer electronics, computers, power supplies, and chassis-style components that are wider than the standard 19”W rack rail clearance of 17.813.” For use with racks 21U and taller. Construction & Features • Three-piece shelf with side supports expands from 17.5”–22”W to provide extra mounting width behind rack rails — for electronics with a larger chassis. • Side supports can be installed with long or short side up to emulate 2U or 3U panel space • Center section is 16-gauge steel; side supports are 14-gauge steel. Sections assemble without hardware. • Cable access opening • Bottom vents • Six (10-32) mounting screws with nuts and two L-bracket stops. • Mounts behind front rack rails (screws into holes on inside angle of rails) using two standard rack screws with nuts on inside slots of each side. Side slots also have a keyhole opening that can be used to mount a single “set screw” on each side before mounting the shelf, allowing the shelf to be supported and then pulled forward and secured using two screws per side. Note: Shelf and equipment should be mounted before other rack accessories to provide ample room for maneuvering equipment. • Load Capacity 50 lbs. (The assembly can also mount to rear rails for heavier equipment) • Made in the USA with certified U.S. steel • Smooth black powder epoxy finish. The three-piece VWS can be assembled with different widths— ...as a 2U shelf, ...or a 3U shelf. A&E Specifications The rackmount shelf shall be Lowell Model No. VWS-218 which shall have a depth of 18”, adjustable width of 17.5”–22” and panel space of 2 or 3 rack units, depending on how it is assembled. Load capacity shall be 50 lbs. The shelf shall include provisions for cable entry and wire lacing. The center section shall be formed from 16-gauge US steel; side supports shall be formed from 14gauge US steel. The shelf shall be finished in black powder epoxy paint. It shall include six 10-32 mounting screws with nuts and two L-bracket stops.
