router QUICK-START GUIDE As used with Thinklogical’s™ Velocitykvm-24D Dual Data Port Fiber Extension System VX40 The VX40 Router Critical Hardware Alarms: (Located at the top, left rear of the unit.) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 KVM Matrix Switch Powered by MRTS Technology Complete steps 1 through 8 9 to connect your Thinklogical™ VX40 Router KVM Matrix Switch Thinklogical’s™ VX40 KVM Matrix Switch features redundant Power Supplies and Controller Modules for uninterrupted performance, even during system reconfiguration, updates or debug. The VX40 remains fully functional with only one Power Supply installed or with one Controller activated. NOTE: When using a single Controller, the module on the left (Primary) must be used. POWER SUPPLY 1 (LEFT): Fan failure, temperature spikes, DC voltage and/or current out of range, AC power input interruption and module removed POWER SUPPLY 2 (RIGHT): Fan failure, temperature spikes, DC voltage and/or current out of range, AC power input interruption and module removed FANS: Individual fan monitoring TEMPERATURE WARNING: Chassis over temperature, multiple sensors TEMPERATURE SHUTDOWN: Chassis over temperature causing shutdown CPU: Card failure (Only with a redundant card) INPUT/OUTPUT CARDS: SFP+ failure, laser output fault ANY OF THE ABOVE COMMON GROUND 8 STEP 8: Connect both supplied AC Power Cords (PWR-0000006-R) to the receptacles located on the VX40's power supplies. Plug each one into a standard AC source. Verify that all system functions are operating properly. STEP 1: Connect your VelocityKVM-24 Dual Data Port Receiver to the VX40 using multi-mode fiber-optic cables (up to 1000 meters). Connect L1 and L3 to any Downstream Transmit Ports. Connect K1 to any Downstream Receive Port and K2 to the same numbered Downstream Transmit Port. STEP 2: Ensure that the Receiver’s ON/OFF switch is in the OFF (0) position. Insert the AC power cord into the Receiver and plug it into a standard AC source. Turn the unit ON. STEP 3: Depending on your configuration, connect your desktop devices (monitors, keyboard, mouse, stereo 3D, etc.) to the Receiver using standard cables as shown in the examples below. Turn all the devices ON. Stereo 3D Emitter OUT L1: Video 1 L3: Video 2 K1: Data RX to TX K2: Data Tx to Rx 1 4 2 Local Keyboard and Mouse to PS2 or USB HID Ports VEL-00DM24-LCTX Velocity-24 Dual Data Port Transmitter Optional Secondary Controller Card IP address: 192.168.13.16 Primary Controller Card IP Address: 192.168.13.15 External Control CPU USB 2.0 DVI IN 1 5 Stereo 3-D ◄Audio IN PS2 Mouse USB HID Local DVI OUT 1 DVI OUT 1 DDC DVI OUT 1 DVI OUT 2 DDC DVI OUT 2 STEP 5: Ensure that the Transmitter’s ON/OFF switch is in the OFF (0) position. Insert the AC power cord into the Transmitter and plug it into a standard AC source. Turn the unit ON. PS2 Keyboard Source CPU Keyboard and Mouse to PS2 or USB HID Ports Network Hub STEP 4: Connect your VelocityKVM-24 Dual Data Port Transmitter to the VX40 using multi-mode fiber-optic cables (up to 1000 meters). Connect L1 and L3 to any Upstream Receive Ports. Connect K1 to any Upstream Transmit Port and K2 to the same numbered Upstream Receive Port. 6 Audio OUT► 3 USB 2.0 OUT 7 DVI IN 2 VelocityKVM-24D Receiver VEL-00DM24-LCRX STEP 6: Connect the DVI cables from the Source CPU to the Transmitter’s DVI IN 1 and 2 Ports. If desired, connect a local monitor to each of the Transmitter’s two DVI OUT ports with standard DVI cables. Connect an optional Keyboard & Mouse to the local USB or PS2 Ports. Connect your peripheral devices from their source to the Transmitter Inputs with standard copper cables. Ensure the CPU is turned ON.
