INTRODUCING: SPARTHERM SELECTION
CONTEMPORARY FREESTANDING WOOD STOVES The Spartherm Selection range, which comprises 10 models (and 23 different size variations), features contemporary freestanding wood stoves with rectangular, tubular and curved profile designs. They typically range in height from 1 – 1.5 metres, with heat outputs from 3,5-10,3 kW and energy efficiency ratings of up to above 85%. Each model has several size and colour variations and they are all available in open or closed combustion

systems. In addition, there are two models that provide supplementary domestic water heating. The Spartherm RLU closed combustion system has been approved by the German Institute for Construction Technology as suitable for domestic use. Most Spartherm wood stoves are also Defra approved. An optional S-Thermatik Mini controller is available. It regulates the supply of primary and secondary air and thus ensures optimum combustion.

INTRODUCING ‘THE ULTIMATE FIRE’ With the introduction of the Maestro Eco Wave series, DRU is proud to present the ‘ultimate fire’, a series of gas fires with natural and vivid flames that accurately represent the visual effect of real wood fires. THE EXCLUSIVE TABLET AND SMARTPHONE APP FOR TOTAL GAS FIRE CONTROL Eco Wave is an exclusive app from DRU Fires that is available for Ipad, Android tablets and all smartphones. It allows consumers, in conjunction with a home’s standard Wi-Fi connection, to set their own preferred flame picture using the app’s touch screen graphic display.

The app also controls the heat output and gas consumption of the fire, allowing for enhanced efficiency and energy saving functionality. Another important aspect of Eco Wave is that it stores data on the fire’s performance, service intervals and many other functions. This data can be automatically communicated to the local DRU dealer for further action as required. Eco Wave is now available on a large selection of DRU gas fires, and is an important selling feature for DRU dealers, installers and consumers.

PowerVent® allows home owners or builders to enjoy a contemporary gas fire wherever they want. It allows the installer to install flues over large distances, go around numerous bends and even run the flue system through a

crawl space or basement. The secret lies in the power box that is connected to the flue on the outside of the building. A control unit measures the pressure in the flue and compares it with the recommended pressure to ensure optimum burning of the gas fire. The control unit is connected to the power box and activates a fan to maintain the air flow in the flue. In effect the system ensures that there is always sufficient draught in the flue channel to provide combustion gases for the fire to work efficiently and produce strong flames. PowerVent®-system

DIK GEURTS PROSTYLE AND INSTYLE CONTEMPORARY WOOD FIRE INSERTS Prostyle and Instyle is a selection of well-designed and functional woodburning fireplace inserts with frames that are visible or concealed by screen printed glass, producing a subtle effect that perfectly sets off their impressive flame pictures. They are suitable for Class 1 chimney installation or for insertion into fabricated chimneybreasts, room dividing walls and many other locations around the home. DRU Verwarming B.V. is a long established European manufacturer of gas fires and stoves that was founded in the Netherlands in 1754. It has subsidiary companies in the UK and Belgium, and exports its products to many other countries worldwide. DRU first developed the balanced flue system in the 1930s. This has revolutionised the production of gas fires, freeing them from the constraints of the traditional chimney and allowing them to be installed in any location that has an outside facing wall. DRU also pioneered the use of electronic remote controls for gas fires and has recently developed a number of improvements to the flame pictures, such as its Vario Burner and Eco Wave systems, which result in more realistic flames coupled with greater energy efficiency. In 2007, DRU acquired Dik Geurts, one of the Netherlands’ leading designers and manufacturers of wood burning fires and stoves. DRU is applying the same design and innovation skills to these products as it has done with gas. For the coming winter season, DRU is launching new products in both the high end and mid-price sectors, increasing its retail distribution and launching a series of initiatives aimed at improving its services to architects, designers and developers.
