Digital Teletext: With our decoder on the WinTV-DVB-s, reception is very fast. A simple click of the mouse allows selected pages to be displayed immediately. In addition, Teletext information (such as foreign currencies, market rates, news, sports results and other information) can be exported as text or graphic files for further use in other applications.
DVB is a European standard for digital satellite TV. With the help of DVB, media such as TV channels, radio programmes and data services are transmitted digitally via the European satellite system.

What is DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting)?
With WinTV-DVB-s you can record and playback digital quality Video and Audio programs using MPEG-2. Record your favourite digital TV programmes to your PC's hard disk, so that you can play them back to your PC screen or TV monitor at any time.
DVB is a standard for the digital transmission of different media such as Video, Audio and Data. With DVB, the MPEG-2 compression format is used for audio and video signals. This means that more digital programmes can be supplied in the space normally consumed by one analog TV channel. The MPEG-2 compression format also allows the embedding of additional data services like EPGs (Electronic Programming Guide).
