Weather Station Weather Station Troubleshooting And FAQs: How do I install my weather station? Your HBC weather station will be installed by a friendly HBC technician. If at anytime you would like your station relocated please call (507) 474-4000 to schedule a technician to visit your home. How do I configure my weather station? Your HBC weather station will be configured at the time of installation to receive weather information and alerts pertinent to your location. What if the forecast is missing from my display unit? 1. Remove the batteries from the display unit and then press any of the buttons on it several times to remove any residual charge. Leave the batteries out for approximately 10 minutes and then insert them back into the display unit. It may take 20-30 minutes for the forecast to return. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, continue to step 2. 2. Power-cycle your gateway unit by unplugging the power cord from the unit for 5-10 seconds and then plug it back in. The weather gateway unit is usually connected to your wireless router. It transmits information to the display unit. It may take 20-30 minutes for the display to begin showing accurate weather again. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, continue to step 3. 3. Replace the batteries for the display unit. 4. If none of the above steps resolve the problem, please contact HBC Wizards for assistance at (507) 474-HELP (4357). What if my display unit is completely blank? 1. What if my display unit has all LCD elements active at all times, rendering it indecipherable? 1. SET Key
Allows you to change settings on your display unit. To use this function, press and hold the SET key until the display unit beeps to enter the set mode. Press the SET key to toggle through the three set modes. If you wait for five seconds without pressing a key, the display unit will exit the set mode and return to normal operation. Set Mode 1 - Set LCD Contrast 1. Press and hold the SET key until the display unit beeps to enter the set mode. 2. LCD and a number between 0 and 7 will flash near the top of the screen. SET LCD CONTRAST will scroll across the bottom of the LCD screen. 3. Press the + key to update the LCD contrast settings (lightest = 0, darkest = 7). 4. Press the SET key to save the current settings and advance to the next option. Set Mode 2 - Set Text Scrolling Speed 1. Press the SET key until Scr flashes at the top and SET SCROLL SPEED scrolls across the bottom of the screen. 2. Press the + key to change the scroll speed (slowest = 1, fastest = 4). The default speed is set to 2. 3. Press the SET key to save the current settings. Set Mode 3 - Enable Acoustic Weather Warnings 1. Press the SET key until AAL ON or AAL OFF flashes at the top of the screen and ENABLE ACOUSTIC WEATHER WARNINGS scrolls across the bottom of the screen. 2. Press the + key to turn the alarm on or off. 3. Press the SET key to save the current settings and advance to the next option. 4. Press the SET key again to exit set mode. - In addition to the scrolling text of the severe weather alerts, an acoustic weather warning provides a beep to notify you of a weather condition. You can turn this beep off to silence this warning so only the text of the warning is displayed. To change the setting, follow the instructions above. You can silence an acoustic weather warning by pressing any key.

Toggle Between Time, Date And Temperature 1. Press the + key to cycle through the DATE, seconds and indoor temperature (IN) on the top segment of the LCD screen. Manually Request A Weather Direct® Data Update Every six hours your gateway will send weather data to update your display unit. If you do not want to wait for your display unit to update automatically, follow the instructions below. 1. Press and hold the + key for three seconds until your display unit beeps once. A second beep within a few seconds will signify that the display unit has received the data.
SNOOZE Key
Alarm Snooze 1. Press the SNOOZE key to temporarily silence the alarm for five minutes. The alarm icon (((•))) will flash on the LCD screen while the snooze function is active. 2. Press any key to cancel snooze and turn the alarm off until tomorrow.
ALARM Key
Turn Alarm On/Off 1. Press the ALARM key to turn the alarm on. The alarm icon (((•))) will appear on the LCD screen. 2. Press the ALARM key again to turn the alarm off. The alarm icon (((•))) will disappear from the LCD screen. 3. Press the ALARM key when the alarm is sounding to stop the alarm for 24 hours. Set Alarm Time 1. Press and hold the ALARM key until the hours digit flashes to set the alarm time. 2. Press the + key to change the hour. PM will indicate a p.m. time, while no icon next to the time means a.m. time. 3. Press the ALARM key again and the minutes digit will flash. 4. Press the + key to change the minutes. 5. Press the ALARM key once more to return to the normal display.
MODE Key
Specific forecasts help you prepare for different weather conditions during the day by providing weather information for morning, afternoon, evening and night. You can change the micro forecast reading on your display unit by pressing the MODE key to toggle between the available options. Micro Forecast Options MORNING Shows the forecast from 6:00 a.m. - 11:59 a.m. with daily HI/LO temperature.
NIGHT Shows the forecast from 12:00 a.m. - 5:59 a.m. with daily HI/LO temperature.
AFTERNOON Shows the forecast from 12:00 p.m. - 5:59 p.m. with daily HI/LO temperature.
ROTATE Cycles between the four Micro Forecasts and the daily forecast.
EVENING Shows the forecast from 6:00 p.m. - 11:59 p.m. with daily HI/LO temperature.
ONLY DAY Shows the daily forecast when you are only interested in the weather for the day rather than forecasts for morning, afternoon, evening or night.

Forecast Icons Explained:
There are two sets of icons presented on your display unit, one for day and one for night. A sun appears on many of the day icons while a moon appears on many of the night icons. Day

- Trace precipitation will not display droplets on the icon and medium conditions generally use the heavy icons to communicate weather events that are likely to affect your plans for the day.
