Children use specially-designed models to explore the world of Architecture, Engineering, and Design! Minimum of 6 participants needed. Learn to weave your very own sweetgrass basket with locally renowned basket weaver Sarah Hammond. The tradition of weaving baskets was brought to the Lowcountry nearly 300 years ago by enslaved Africans. Originally serving utilitarian purposes these beautiful baskets are now prized as beautiful works of art.

Children Ages 10-16, Adults 17+ - Learn the basic elements of blacksmithing with Charleston blacksmith, James Irving. Then put your new skills to use by making your very own project. Children can choose from making a rose, bottle opener, or a decorative key chain. Adults can choose from making a rose, bottle opener, fire poker, or oyster shucker.
