What’s New Today’s competitive business environment requires project team members to efficiently share complex project information across teams in different locations and coordinate design reviews within tight schedules. Autodesk® DWF™ Composer helps save time and money with easyto-use tools for team members to review, mark up, and revise 2D and 3D designs without the original design creation software. Members of the design-review team can easily view and print AutoCAD® DWG, Autodesk Inventor®, and DWF™ (Design Web Format™) files with accuracy and resolution. Use complete sheet set organization, powerful status tracking capabilities, and flexible measurement, redlining, and annotation tools to communicate changes electronically. Then, “round-trip” the DWF file, overlaying digital markups onto the original CAD file to streamline the review and editing process. This document details the new features and enhancements to the April 2005 release of Autodesk DWF Composer.

Review High Fidelity 2D and 3D Review, Mark up and Revision Capabilities 3D DWF View, Print, Measure and Markup: The viewing, measure and mark up features of DWF Composer extend beyond 2D to include 3D DWF files. Users can view and navigate DWF map books published from DWF MapBooks: ®
Autodesk Map 3D 2006. DWF map books can include index sheets and hyperlinks to quickly navigate the map.
Enhancements to DWF Printing Print Preview: Now users can easily select paper sizes and preview the sheet or view to be printed before sending a DWF to the printer.

® ® Printer Hardware Integration: Printing to your HP or Océ hardware device is easier
than ever before. Through Autodesk partnerships with these vendors, we have implemented solutions that make printing your DWF file as easy as a click of the mouse. File Measurement Capabilities Precision Display: Autodesk DWF Composer provides built in DWF measurement tools allowing users to easily derive length, multi-line length, and area of 2D and 3D DWF files. In the latest release, precision display allows users to determine the number of significant digits displayed and determine the precision of the measurement.
Increased Support for Native File Viewing, Plotting, and Publishing
DWG Viewer UI Improvements: The stand-alone DWG Viewer continues to be part of the DWF Composer solution and allows for DWG viewing, printing, and publishing to DWF. User interface improvements have been made to improve ease of use among users unfamiliar with AutoCAD software.
DXF File Format Support: The DWG Viewer also supports viewing, plotting and ™ publishing of the DXF file format.
Autodesk Inventor View: The Autodesk DWF Composer bundle now includes an
® additional viewing component, Autodesk Inventor View, allowing members of the extended manufacturing team to view and plot Autodesk Inventor files.
Easy to Use Application for Users Unfamiliar with CAD software Updated User Interface: To accommodate the new features and functionality as well as improve the user experience, the Autodesk DWF Composer user interface has been updated with this latest release.

Mark up New and Enhanced Markup and Annotation Tools for Better Communication New Custom Symbols: In addition to the easy-to-use shapes, text, markups, freehand, and stamp tools, new custom symbols have been added to DWF Composer’s mark up library. Custom symbols provide powerful new ways for customers to annotate and markup information in the office or out in the field. With this tool, customers can create their own catalogue of symbols from any source including block object data created in AutoCAD 2006, any DWF file, and raster images.
Highlight Cross Selection: Users can better keep track of and manage their markups, with a graphical highlight of the selected markups.
Markup Color Status: Improving the speed of reviews and the ability to identify the status of markups, customers now have the option to graphically assign colors to markups to indicate their status. For example, when a user changes status of a markup to Done in the Navigator, the markup graphic in the DWF will be highlighted in yellow.

Revise Efficient Workflow with Integrated Markups Revit Roundtrip: Similar to how CAD users can round-trip their DWF to the AutoCAD 2005 and AutoCAD 2006-based products, Autodesk Revit Building 8 and Autodesk Revit Structure customers benefit from the ability to load DWF markups for fast, accurate revisions with Autodesk DWF Composer. Improved Ability to Utilize DWF File for Sharing All Your Design Data New Snapshot Tool: Users continue to be able to drag and drop drawing sheets from one drawing set to another, combining CAD documents with text files, raster images, and other DWF files for easy distribution, review, and archiving. In addition to the Autodesk DWF Writer that shipped with the previous version of DWF Composer, a new snapshot tool allows users to capture any onscreen information and bring it into their DWF file. Snapshot tool provides a fast, simple-to-use way to capture graphical information from anything on a users display and automatically publish that information into a DWF file.
