In order to add a wireless siren to the system perform the following steps: 1. Enter the programming mode on the keypad, navigate with the ½¾ keys to RF Receivers and press OK. 2. Select the relevant module bus ID and press OK. For example, you can select RF Receiver 32, which is a built-in receiver on the NX-10 panel board. 3. Select Learn RF Device>Learn Siren/IO, and then select the new siren number (Siren/IO 1 to 4) and press OK. The panel starts the learning-in procedure, and the Learn-in Mode message is displayed on the keypad(s). 4. Power-up the IO module in the outdoor siren with tamper open. The battery holds three wires (red-blue-black) 5 6 7 plus a connector. The IO module also holds three wires (red-blue-black) plus a connector. These connectors need to be plugged into each other to power up the IO module. 5. Wait until the LED on the IO module board F blinks for 0.5 sec. 6. Trigger the tamper by pushing the pin on the tamper lever, simulating the closing of the housing for at least 0.5 second and maximum of 5 seconds, and release the tamper again. 7. The LED on the IO module board F will blink for 1 second. 8. The keypad beeps once to confirm the siren is programmed. 9. Before final commission cut jumper J3 on the siren PCB 1. This jumper is used as start-up protection. $ Mounting the siren For mounting instructions, see Figure #. Pay attention to the precise placement of the tamper switch against the wall. To comply with an EN50131-4 grade 2 installation, please take special care of positioning the tamper switch lever to the wall. The siren needs to signal a tamper alarm when the unit is taken more than 5 mm from its mounting surface (see Figure $). Siren configuration To allow the IO module to control the output on the outdoor siren, you need to cut jumper 3 and then optionally 1 and/or 2. Jumper 3 is a start-up protection. Jumpers 1 and 2 are responsible for timer settings, and you can cut one of them or both, according to the table below. The maximum siren activity time is limited both by hardware (jumper) setting, and software (RF Receiver 32>Outputs>Siren/IO>Time) time setting, whichever is shorter. For example, even if the software setting for a siren is set at 255 minutes, and the jumper J1 is cut, the siren will sound for 5 minutes only (i.e. according to the hardware limit). When the same jumper is cut, and the time value for the Siren/IO module is set to 1 minute, the siren will stop after 1 minute. TX-7201-05-1 Wireless outdoor siren 3 Timer setting Time J1 J2 3 minutes (exfactory) 5 minutes 10 minutes 20 minutes Safety instructions WARNING: Do not open the flash housing. Risk of high voltage. Battery replacement and removal CAUTION: Batteries can explode or cause burns when recharged, incorrectly (dis)assembled, or exposed to fire or high temperatures. Dispose of used battery according to battery directive instructions and/or as required by local laws. Keep away from children. To remove the batteries from the outdoor siren, please pull the black plastic strap that holds the battery pack. Only replace the batteries with the standard lithium battery pack BS7201. Do not use a different type of lithium batteries. Technical specifications For further details/specifications see NX-10 Alarm System Installers Manual. The European directive “Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment” (WEEE) aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic equipment waste on the environment and human health. To conform with this directive, electrical equipment marked with this symbol must not be disposed of in European public disposal systems. European users of electrical equipment must now return end-of-life equipment for disposal. Further information can be found on the following website: www.recyclethis.info
