Adding a New Transmitter into the System Have all desired transmitters ready (up to 4 transmitters). Do not install the RS300 into a manual transmission vehicle as it could result in serious injury or death. 1. Turn on the ignition. 2. Within 2 seconds, press and hold the Override switch. Wiring Diagram • The status LED will turn on red. • The horn will chirp 3 times. 3. Within 5 seconds press Transmitter Button 1. • The parking lights will flash once. 4. Within 5 seconds press Transmitter Button 1 again. • The parking lights will flash twice. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add any additional transmitters. 6. Turn off the ignition. The Parking Light Polarity Jumper is inside the control unit, next to the on-board parking light relay. Select the polarity (+/-) for the output of the Parking Light relay by placing the jumper across the correct pins. Pin 2 + Pin 3 = Positive (default) Pin 1 + Pin 2 = Negative Positive © Ungo Security Corporation, Gardena, CA 64-RS300 IG Rev. 1 8/02 Negative Installation Notes: The engine’s tachometer pulse must be learned before testing the remote start function. For vehicle’s with accessory current draw exceeding 20 Amps, or vehicle’s with more than one starter or accessory wire, install an outboard relay. Valet Mode Programmable System Parameters Temporarily disables the remote start system for vehicle service or if turned over to a parking attendant. To turn Valet Mode on or off: 1. Turn on the ignition. 2. Press and hold the override switch. 3. While holding the override switch, turn off the ignition. • The parking lights will flash once to indicate you have turned Valet Mode on. • The parking lights will flash twice to indicate you have turned Valet Mode off. 4. Release the override switch. While in Valet Mode, the LED will light solid and the Remote Transmitters will continue to lock and unlock your doors and operate the Auxiliary Function. Entering System Programming To enter System Programming: 1. Turn on ignition. 2. Wait 2 seconds, then press the valet switch 5 times within 5 seconds. • The parking lights will flash and the LED will turn on, indicating that you have entered Programming. 3. Press the valet switch the number times equal to the System Parameter you want to change. • The parking lights will flash each time the valet switch is pressed. 4. Within 5 seconds, press the transmitter button corresponding to the desired operating mode for that Parameter. • The parking lights will flash to indicate the setting. 1 flash = Button 1 2 flashes = Button 2 Feature 1. Engine Tach Learn 2. Engine Type 3. Ignition Controlled Door Locking 4. Ingition Controlled Door Unlocking 5. Door Unlock Pulse 6. Door Lock/Unlock Pulse Width 7. Engine Run Time 8. Engine Tach Learn. With the engine running, enter system programming and access Engine Tach Learn step. Press Button 1 to learn the vehicle’s tach signal. The LED will flash once to confirm signal learning. The LED will flash five times if the signal was not learned. 2. Engine Type. Selects Gas or Diesel engine types. The default setting is for Gas engines. When set to Diesel mode, the system monitors the wait-to-start input before cranking the engine. If the wait-to-start input is not connected or not properly read, the automatic timing will crank the starter after 15 seconds. 3. Ignition Controlled Door Locking. Selects whether or not the system automatically locks the doors 10 seconds after the ignition key is turned on. 5. When finished, turn the ignition key off to save the changes. 4. Ignition Controlled Door Unlocking. Selects whether or not the system automatically unlocks the doors when the ignition is turned off. System Initialization and Default Reset 5. Door Unlock Pulse - Single/Double. Selects between a single or double pulse door unlock output. Many late model vehicles require two pulses to unlock the doors. To reset all System Programming Parameters to factory default settings. 1. Enter System Programming. 6. Door Lock Pulse Width. Selects between a 1-second and a 3-second output for door locking and unlocking. Set to 3 seconds when interfacing into vehicles equipped with vacuum door locking systems. 2. Press Transmitter Button 3. • The parking lights will flash 6 times indicating that the reset signal was received. • All System Programming parameters are now set to factory default settings. 7. Engine Run Time. Selects between a 12-minute or 24-minute run cycle. 3. Turn ignition off. 9. Auto-lock after remote start shutdown. Automatically locks the doors 5 seconds after the remote start is shut down. 8. Auto-lock when remote starting. Automatically locks the doors after successfully remote starting. 10. Cold Start Enable. Allows Cold Start Feature activation via the remote transmitter. 11. Auxiliary Start Mode. Selects between a single pulse input or three pulse input (OEM mode) on the auxiliary start input wire. 12. Horn Alert with Lock and Unlock. When set for Horn Alert, the horn will provide Lock and Unlock confirmation. 13. Warning Chirps on Remote Start. When selected, the vehicle’s horn will pulse two times before remote starting to provide a safety warning. Note: this features requires programming step 12 to be set for Alert.
