Wisper 905SE City Installation Manual 1. Prepare a clear space to install your bike. 2. Unpack your bike and components from the Wisper shipping box and lean the semi‐assembled bike upside‐down against a wall (or chair) so it won’t tip. 3. Your Wisper shipping box will contain: main bike frame assembly, seat and seatpost, rear carrier top, front mudguard, two small cardboard boxes. The smallest box should contain: pedals, cycle computer, front night light, front reflector, 2 X keys, bike tool kit. The larger, box contains your battery charger. 4. Use a pair of nippers or scissors and carefully snip the plastic ties holding the front wheel to the frame. Place the wheel nearby. 5. Carefully lift and turn the bike right way up and again lean it against its support. Snip the three plastic ties holding the handlebars to the frame and lower the handlebars to the ground. Carefully remove all protective foam and padding from the bike (scissors are useful here, but be extremely careful not to scratch the frame, or damage any cables). 6. Use the keys supplied and unlock the battery lock. Make sure the battery power output cable is unplugged from the battery, then open out the battery handle and pull the battery up to slide it free from the bike. Important: Fully charge the battery before using the bike. Refer to the User Guide for instructions. Important: Your first three charge cycles need to be deep cycles, as detailed in the User Guide. 7. Hint: It is a good idea to begin charging the battery now, so it is ready sooner. To charge the new battery, unpack the charger from the larger of the cardboard boxes. Remove the rubber charge socket protective cap from the battery (next to the power terminal socket) and,

with the I/O switch on the charger off (O), plug the charger lead into the charge socket on the battery. Now plug the charger into a power point and turn on the power at the wall. Lastly, switch on the charger (the charger’s I/O switch is next to the 240/110v power input cable). One light will show red, and the other will show orange (charging). The orange light will turn green when the fast‐charge cycle is complete. It is best to charge overnight for the first 3 charge cycles, as detailed in the user guide. Note: When charging, always the last step is to switch the charger switch on. This allows the charger to properly sense the battery charge levels. Slide the seatpost into the frame and tighten the quick‐release lever. If the seat is not firm with the lever fastened, fully fold the lever back again, then tighten the adjustment nut clockwise a half turn. Fold down the lever again and retry. Repeat until the seatpost is held firm. Slide the plastic cap off the handlebar headset stem‐post, then slide the stem‐post into the bike. Lift the quick‐adjust lever on the headset and alter the headset angle until you can fit the supplied largest allen key into the nut on the top of the stem‐post. Make sure that about an inch of silver stem‐post is showing (you can adjust the final height later) and that the handlebars are aligned with the forks, then tighten this nut until the stem‐ post is held firm. Note: recheck and tighten this very firmly, once the front wheel is installed later. Depress the quick‐adjust lever to lock it in place again.
13. Carefully turn the bike upside‐down and lay it on a rug, or soft surface to avoid damage. Note: you can lower the rear carrier struts to stabilise the upside‐down bike. Or you can rock it forwards onto its handlebars. 14. Remove the plastic axle rest from the base of the front forks. 15. Clip the plastic tie holding the front fork brake callipers together. 16. Remove the protective end‐cap from the axle of the front wheel and loosen the axle nuts until they are near to coming off the ends of the axle.

Carefully slot the front wheel axle into the forks, guiding the tyre between the open brake callipers. Important: the side of the hub with the paper direction guide will be on the same side that the dynamo light mount is on the front fork. Firmly tighten the axle nuts. Important: If you are not familiar with bike maintenance, then please have your local bike store specialist check your bike before riding it. Incorrectly installed components can be dangerous. Unscrew the nut from the bolt through the top of the forks. Slide out the bolt, then slide the front reflector onto the bolt and reinsert it into the fork. Reinstall the spacer washers, then slot the front mudguard mount over the bolt, reapply the nut and tighten. Remove the screws from the base of the forks, insert screws through the mudguard struts, then reapply the screws to the forks and tighten. Reinstall the brake cable into the v‐brake calliper cable mount.. Note: if this proves too difficult, you may need to loosen the cable nut and slacken the cable. Then you can easily slot the cable into the cable mount. Important: Re‐set the cable and tighten the cable nut firmly. The pads should be as close as possible to the rims without rubbing. Note: As new brake cables stretch, you can retighten them easily by screwing out the cable tension adjuster (the screw cap where the brake cable enters the handlebar brake lever unit). Remember to loosen

the lock nut ring first. With the bike still upside‐down, install the Shimano front light on the fork mount. Make sure the grip washer is between the fork mount and the mounting arm of the light. Pass the power cable through the fork mount and wrap it three times around the fork, before plugging it into the hub dynamo terminals. Remove the paper direction guide. Note: the light switches on automatically in low light. You can test it by placing a finger over the light sensor ‘window’ on the underside of the light and giving the wheel a turn to make the bulb flicker. Carefully lift and turn the bike back to an upright position. Lower the kickstand to stabilise the bike. Install the cycle computer into its mount preinstalled on the handlebar. Hint: If the mounting unit is too close to the gear changer you can adjust it by loosening the adjustment screw, then sliding the unit and retightening the screw. Peel the protective layer from the display screen. Line up the preinstalled sensor unit with the magnet installed on the spokes. Twist the sensor on the fork until it is parallel with the surface of the magnet and as close to it as possible without hitting it when the wheel turns. Lift the front wheel and give it a spin to check if the current speed shows. Note: if the speed does not show, realign the sensor closer to the magnet and try again.

Hint: Read the cycle computer manual for details of the computer’s many functions. Unpack the pedals and check on the axle‐ends to see which is left (L) and which is right (R). Thread the pedals into the corresponding crank and tighten firmly using the supplied 15mm wrench. Hint: Be careful to note which crank is actually the right and which is the left when the bike is facing forwards. Remove the rear carrier top from its cardboard packaging and lay it upside‐down on the floor. Pull out the plastic battery protect tab to install the rear night light function. The light is switched on/off by pressing the small blue button. Remove the eight fastening nuts and bolts from the rear carrier top. Remove the rear carrier struts from the bike and attach them to the rear carrier unit using the supplied Allen key and an 8mm spanner to stop the nut from turning as you tighten it. Note: remember which way the struts faced when they came off the bike, and match that to the upside‐down carrier. Note: the struts will fasten to the inside edge of the six carrier holes. Position the carrier over the bike and refasten it to the rear forks, being very careful that the hex bolts thread correctly into the frame.
