Opti-Core ® Traditional Trunk Cable Assemblies Opti-Core ® Traditional Trunk Cable Assemblies allow for rapid deployment of high-density permanent links in a single assembly for data center applications requiring quick infrastructure deployment, such as main, horizontal, and zone distribution areas. These trunk cable assemblies optimize cabling routing requirements to ensure efficient use of pathway space and significantly reduce installation time and cost. They are built with traditional simplex and duplex connectivity (LC, SC, and ST), provide compatibility, flexibility, and system performance in all permanent link applications. Opti-Core® Traditional Trunk Cable Assemblies are factory terminated and tested to deliver verified optical performance and reliability for improved network integrity. 10Gig™ versions provide 10 Gb/s network performance up to 300 meters for OM3 and up to 550 meters for OM4 per IEEE 802.3ae 10 GbE standard while maintaining compatibility with legacy systems. Key Features Benefits Application specific designs Tailor configuration and breakout construction to application requirements to minimize waste, optimize cable management, speed deployment, and improve flexibility and manageability for lower installation costs Factory terminated Provides a quick-to-deploy, scalable solution to improve reliability and reduce installation time and cost 100% tested (test data supplied) Assures verified optical performance for improved network integrity Traditional connectors (LC, SC, and ST) High-density cable Provide design flexibility for all connectivity types throughout the data center Wide range of fiber cable configurations Support 10 Gb/s (OM3), (OM4), multimode (OM1 or OM2), and singlemode (OS1 and proposed OS2) permanent link elements in the data center to provide design flexibility for all connectivity types Uses pathway space more efficiently to improve manageability and reduce installation costs Te c h n i c a l I n f o r m a t i o n • Connectivity meets or exceeds TIA/EIA-568-B.3 and ISO/IEC 11801 performance requirements • Jacketed cable is compliant with UL1666 Optical Fiber Nonconductive Riser (OFNR), NFPA 262 Optical Fiber Nonconductive Plenum (OFNP), or IEC-60332 Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) flame rating • Insertion loss per mated pair: 0.10dB typical, 0.30dB max. Breakout lengths for 96 and 144 fibers for 900µm buffered fiber are 44 inches (1.12m) for 96-fibers, and 51.5 inches (1.3m) for 144-fibers. Breakout lengths are 39 inches (1m) from the sub-unit for all 2mm upjacket fiber counts. Breakout length tolerances are +2 inches (5.1cm)/-0 for 900µm buffered fiber, and +3 inches (7.6cm)/-0 for 2mm upjacket fiber. Notes: 1. Available in lengths up to 999 feet (300m). Cable assembly lengths are measured as distance between the furthest connector tips. Length tolerance is +4 feet (1.2m)/-0. 2. Standard breakout is 900µm buffered fiber; 2mm upjacket breakout is also available. 3. For hybrid solutions (mixed fiber types), odd fiber counts (those not listed), other fiber types (those not listed) or special cable constructions/ratings/colors availability, consult Panduit.
