GARBAGE – Place at curbside by 6:00 a.m.
ITEMS NOT TO BE PLACED CURBSIDE
Place all garbage in 40-gallon or smaller trash cans or 40 gallon or smaller heavy-duty plastic trash bags. Non containerized garbage (excluding bulky waste) will not be collected. No can or bag may exceed 50 lbs.
Tires, batteries, automobile and boat parts, oils, paints, sludge, household chemical waste (pesticides and insecticides). These items can be taken to the Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Management Facility Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Sharps should be delivered to the Clay County Health Department.
Construction & Demolition Debris (to include debris from remodeling) is limited to 1 cubic yard per week (ie: approximately 3’ x 3’ x 3’) and should be containerized if practical. Should be placed at curb along with household garbage.
Bulk Waste Items include large household goods and furniture that were previously used by the customer at the dwelling for which collection service is provided. Should be placed at curb along with household garbage.
YARD WASTE – Place at curbside by 6:00 a.m. Yard waste is what grows in your yard! Place all leaves, grass clippings and small yard debris in a 40gallon or smaller can or heavy-duty plastic trash bag for collection. No can or bag may exceed 50 lbs. Collection of containerized yard trash is unlimited. Non containerized leaves, grass clippings and small yard debris will not be collected. All stumps, trees and limbs may not exceed 4 feet in length or 50 lbs in weight for a total of no more than 5 cubic yards (approximately 4ft. x 4ft. x 8ft.) per week of non containerized yard trash.
RECYCLING – Place at curbside by 6:00 a.m. Place all recyclable materials in bins provided (one for paper products, one for plastic, glass, & cans etc.). All containers to be emptied and rinsed clean. Do not place anything but recyclables in recycle bins. Recyclable materials include the following: • • • • • • •
Christmas trees may be placed at the curb with yard waste. Be sure to remove all decorations. Clay County (Advanced Disposal) provides garbage, yard trash and recyclables collection services at a level appropriate to meet the basic needs of a residence through the course of a year. In storm events warranting service beyond that, the County may seek the involvement of a separate Contractor, and/or the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA).
APPLIANCES Appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, hot water heaters, etc. will be picked up one time per week. Please call Advanced Disposal (904-695-0500) to schedule a pickup. Place item(s) curbside by 6:00 a.m. of the prescheduled collection day. On scheduled collection day items should be within 3 feet of curb, when there is no curb containers should be no more than 10 feet away from roadway.
Newspaper and all inserts Telephone books, hardback and paper back books, magazines, office paper, junk mail and catalogs. Paperboard boxes and corrugated cardboard boxes broken down no larger than 2`x3`. Shredded Paper should be placed in 13 gallon or smaller plastic trash bags and placed alongside of or on top of recycle bins (NO LOOSE SHREDDED PAPER). Aluminum cans, steel cans, baking tins, glass bottles and jars (green, clear, and brown). Plastic (#1 - #7) all colors (household use items: deli trays, butter tubs, plastic food and beverage containers). CD’s & CD cases Milk/creamer cartons, soup & broth cartons, and juice boxes. Recyclables become property of the County once placed at the curb.
