WWW.EXTREMEMOTORSALES.COM Assembling your product from Extreme Motor Sales Now that you have received your atv or dirt bike, you have the task of assembling the unit. PLEASE NOTE IF YOU ARE NOT MECHANICALLY INCLINED, HAVE A MECHANIC DO THE ASSEMBLY, it is better to be safe than sorry. All of the units will require metric tools. Most crates will be assembled with the 14mm bolts. Take your time and remove all nuts and bolts that hold the unit into the crate. Once the unit is unpacked, organize all remaining assembly pieces, sort all nuts and bolts so that they are easy to find. We highly recommend that you use Loctite on all nuts and bolts. Loctite is a thread glue that prevents those nuts and bolts from loosening as a result of vibration. You can but that from our website or from your local hardware store. Start with the handle bars, most handle bars will have 4 clamps, two on the bottom and two on the top. The bolt size is typically a 10 mm. Center the handle bars and tighten down. Tires: The tire tread should always point forward, make sure that the stem is on the outside of the rim. Use loctite and supplied cotter pins when doing assembly on front and rear tires. If you are required to assembly the tire rod ends, the castle nut is 17mm. Most castle nuts for mini atvs will be 22mm in the front and 24mm in the rear. Battery: Batteries will come dry and you must put the fluid in the battery. Please use safety goggles when completing this task. Remove the red tape covering the fill holes and push fill container down until it starts to drain. Once completed use a hammer to tap down the fill hole caps. Remember BLACK to NEGATIVE and RED to POSITIVE. There is a fused line to the battery so if you have no power, check the fuse. WWW.EXTREMEMOTORSALES.COM WWW.EXTREMEMOTORSALES.COM Starting procedures: Before you add gas, check that the fuel line is attached to the carburetor. These are gravity feed so you need to give it a minute or two before attempting to start the unit. Push the choke lever for full choke. Our units are equipped with safety brake switches, you will need to squeeze the brake or push the foot pedal until the brake light lights up and then hit the start switch. You must also turn the key to the on position, and make sure that the kill switch is set on C and not C with an x. If you have a hard time starting the unit, make sure that you have gas to the carburetor; an easy way to check is to locate the carburetor and go all the way to the bottom. You will see the drain bowl screw on the very bottom. Pictured below: Turn the screw clockwise and allow gas to flow freely from the drain tube. Tighten the screw back up and try to start again. WWW.EXTREMEMOTORSALES.COM WWW.EXTREMEMOTORSALES.COM Once the unit starts, let it sit and idle for 15-20 minutes before riding it. Carburetors are packed with a gel and the gas has to have time to dissipate that gel, if you ride it immediately you will cause the gel to get sucked in the jets, clogging the carburetor making it difficult to start and idle. VERY IMPORTA T TO LET IS SIT A D IDLE FOR 15 -20 MI UTES BEFORE YOU RIDE. Never set the idle screw will the choke is on, turn the choke off and turn the idle clockwise ΒΌ turns per time. The idle should be set high enough that it does not stall, but low enough that the atv does not move on its own. WWW.EXTREMEMOTORSALES.COM WWW.EXTREMEMOTORSALES.COM Here are some tips: Get a 12 volt trickle charger and charge the battery so that it never gets so low. If it gets very low you will cut the battery life in half. A trickle charger will prolong the life of your battery. NEVER JUMP YOUR ATV OR DIRT BIKE OFF OF A CAR, YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR BATTERY, WIRE HARNESS OR WORSE CATCH YOU PRODUCT ON FIRE. Use loctite on all of your bolts and nuts, you will only have to tighten them once! Use high octane gas, if you are not going to ride your product for a prolong period of time, drain it of gas. Even in 30 days you can clog your carburetor from letting old gas sit in it. OLD GAS CAUSING CLOGGING AND POOR PERFORMANCE! Oil Changes, your unit comes with break in oil, which means for the first 8-10 hours do not run the unit at full speeds, allow it to break in slowly. After that 8-10 hour break in, change the oil to 10W 40. Change your oil often, we recommend every 3 months or more depending on use. WWW.EXTREMEMOTORSALES.COM
