The NET485-EIP-MB is an intelligent Modbus to EtherNet/IP gateway, with Modbus Master and EtherNet/IP Slave software built-in. The NET485-EIP-MB is a low cost, compact adapter that can be used with your existing Modbus RTU/ASCII serial device to allow it to be used on an EtherNet/IP Network. The technology inside the NET485-EIP-MB is also available to embed inside your Modbus product – the XPORT-EIP-MB. The NET485-EIP-MB features a serial cable and 9-Pin RS232 DTE (male) or DCE (female) connector that is simply attached to your Modbus RS232 port.
Configuration of the NET485 is accomplished with a BOOTP Server (such as Rockwell’s RSLinx™ ) and an EtherNet/IP Messaging Tool (such as RSNetWorx™ or Pyramid Solutions EIPScan™). The Ethernet port of the NET485-EIP-MB supports both 10Base-T and 100Base-TX Ethernet connections. The serial port of the NET485-EIP-MB supports Modbus baud rates up to 230kbps. The NET485-EIP-MB is available as an OEM part, and customization of the software is possible. An RS232 Version (the NET232EIP-MB) is also available
