HD Video Beyond 1080p
Press Quote But today, we have a victory for AMD. One thing we really like is the transparent nature of the onboard CrossFire with the Radeon HD 3870 X2. ….CrossFire performance to work out-of-the-box with absolutely no issues! CrossFire on the 3870 X2 is truly transparent. If you are using this card and not aware that it is a dual GPU CrossFire configuration, you likely never will. This is the way it really should be, and we must give kudos to AMD for making this work so well.

What should we think of this Radeon HD 3870? First of all, AMD has reached its goal, taking back the crown for the most powerful graphics card. After all, it had been more than a year (since the launch of the 8800 GTX) since it was lost. Obviously, AMD has captured the title of "fastest single graphics card" with the Radeon HD 3870 X2. There is much to like here. The X2 is generally faster than the GeForce 8800 Ultra, and it has HD video decode acceleration that Nvidia's older G80 GPU lacks. In all, the X2 looks to be a pretty good value in a single-card,
