2011 NEW PRODUCT RELEASE
X-U1
CD HI-FI MINI SYSTEM WHITE
Big Sound for a Mini System Space and budget restrictions are no longer an obstacle to achieving spectacular sound in the home. With the X-U1 mini system, you’ll find the same dedication to high fidelity that Onkyo applies to its high-end two-channel range. Behind the receiver’s vibration-damping front and side cover, the direct digital USB connection and high-quality digital amplification circuitry ensure accurate signal transfer. Simply plug your iPod, iPhone, or flash drive into the port, choose a song with the supplied remote controller, and enjoy brilliantly clear sound reproduction. Audio performance is further enhanced with Active Bass Control, which adjusts bass levels in real time to prevent fade at low volume. Super Bass lends a deep, resonant bottom end to all your music. Solid two-way bass-reflex speakers—with high-quality MDF construction—feature a powerful cone woofer and balanced-dome tweeter for a dynamic, expressive performance. The front-mounted CD tray is easy to load, and plays audio CDs, MP3 discs, and CD-R/CD-RWs. There’s a dedicated subwoofer pre-out; an FM radio tuner with 30-station preset; and tone controls for bass and treble to bring out the detail in all kinds of music. With its elegant style, brilliant sound, and affordable price, the X-U1 hits all the right notes. CD HI-FI MINI SYSTEM
Front-Panel USB Port for Digital Connection of iPod/iPhone The X-U1’s front-panel USB port lets you access digital audio files stored on a USB flash drive or iPod/iPhone. As the audio signals are transported in digital form, rather than analog, there is much less chance for signal degradation. End result: your music sounds cleaner and more faithful to the original. Another benefit of the USB input is that it lets you use the system’s remote controller to play back audio files on the connected device.
Efficient Digital Amplifier Circuitry for Clean Audio Signals The X-U1 employs digital amplifier circuitry to extract a noise-free signal from digital audio sources. Whether it’s on a standard CD or in a compressed MP3 file stored on CD or USB flash memory, your music will sound clearer than ever. Because digital amplifiers can convert power with very high levels of efficiency, much less energy is wasted as heat. With no need for a bulky heat sink, the amplifier design can be smaller and lighter. Hence, the X-U1 can provide roomfilling power that belies its modest size.
Compact Yet Solid Two-Way Bass-Reflex Speakers The X-U1 includes a pair of bass-reflex speakers incorporating a two-way design for clearer separation of highs and lows. Both cabinets feature a powerful 10 cm woofer and a balanced-dome tweeter. The speakers are constructed from durable MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), rather than regular fiberboard. This higherquality material enhances sound quality and prevents the finish from rolling back, cracking, or splitting.
