Novatel Wireless’ XCA-3 ExpressCard/34 adapter gives users the ability to use the new, smaller, more compact wireless ExpressCards in notebooks equipped only with the larger PCMCIA Card slots. Now, with a single ExpressCard and adapter, users can access any notebook, regardless of the type of wireless connectivity slot it has.

Full Performance
Use of the XCA-3 adapter is completely transparent to the computer. All device drivers and applications “see” the ExpressCard in the adapter as if the adapter was built in to the notebook. Intelligent hardware on the adapter resolves all compatibility issues by converting ExpressCard signals to Cardbus signals and visa versa. This is done transparently to both the ExpressCard and the notebook.
ExpressCard/34 modems operate at full performance levels. There is no performance degradation when using the adapter.
Hot-Swapping
The XCA-3 adapter may be left in the notebook and the ExpressCard can be inserted or extracted at will without rebooting or re-initializing the card.
