xMax® CN3200 Dual-Band Routing Modem DUAL-BAND IP67-RATED RUGGEDIZED SUBSCRIBER DEVICE The xMax® CN3200 Routing Modem is an IP67-rated ruggedized subscriber device that is designed to be installed in both fixed and mobile deployments. When paired with a WiFi router, the CN3200 acts as a protocol bridge, allowing users of WiFi-enabled smartphones, tablets, notebooks, and other devices to access the Internet through the secure xMax cognitive radio network. This further extends xG’s record of leadership as a provider of intelligent, demand-driven wireless systems that incorporate smart radios, smart networks, and smart application delivery. The CN3200 is an end-user solution that integrates xMax and any Ethernetconnected device, such as a WiFi router, in a single device. It delivers both high data rates and reliable high-speed mobility in the same system. The brains of the CN3200 is a network processor that monitors the links in real time and implements fail-over. With dual frequencies, the CN3200 seamlessly switches between radio links based on optimum throughput if either becomes inoperative. This all occurs without interruption of service. It also has the ability to route all VoIP traffic tagged with QoS information through the xMax link. This provides lower latencies and maintains quality of service when operating on the xMax link. The CN3200 is ideal for vehicle usage. In logistics, military, or public service applications, the 2.4 GHz link can assist in loading and unloading high volumes of data from the application server to a stationary vehicle and then transparently switch over to xMax once it goes mobile. The CN3200 and xMax system supports nomadic and fully mobile connectivity, including handoffs. As with all the components in the xMax family of products, the CN3200 is designed to offer maximum range, flexibility, throughput, and reliability, while minimizing network deployment and management costs. This makes xMax a comprehensive solution for public safety communications, as well as WiSPs, telcos, and other service providers facing challenging network deployment environments. The CN3200 is waterproof and made to withstand wide temperature ranges and challenging environmental conditions. With IP67 Certification, it has been designed to meet the extreme demands characteristic of expeditionary environments, making it ideally suited for employment in the public safety, homeland security, and military market places. Flexible Configuration Options The CN3200 features four external xMax antenna connectors, in support of 2x4 MIMO, a connector for an external 2.4 GHz antenna, a weatherproof Ethernet interface, mounting bracket, and a status LED. Requiring no power connection, it is PoE (Power over Ethernet) powered via the Ethernet connector. KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS • Blended solution built on best-of-breed approach to delivering services. • Simultaneously overcomes the throughput constraints of narrow channel width as well as the mobility, coverage, and voice quality limitations of WiFi. • Higher performance—with dedicated channels for mobile (xMax) and stationary data (2.4 GHz). • The xMax dual-band cognitive networking system maximizes user experience via interprotocol smart-routing by transparently switching between xMax and 2.4 GHz, to deliver mobility and high throughput. • Greater reliability, with built-in redundancy and auto fail-over. • Utilizes 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz radio frequencies for long range and high throughput. • Ideal for video streaming and WiFi hotspots when coupled with a WiFi router.
