The Hamilton Women’s Ice Hockey Team will be squaring off against Bowdoin College Women’s Ice Hockey Team, of Maine, at a Hamilton home game at Sage Rink on the Hamilton College campus, in Clinton. Although there is no ticket purchase required to attend, team members and the college campus group, SAVES, (Sexual Assault Violence Education & Support) will be accepting donations and selling tee-shirts with all proceeds benefitting YWCA Mohawk Valley programs. Additionally, spectators will have the opportunity to purchase a raffle for a team jersey basket, which includes a specially designed team jersey, a special edition Hamilton – SV/DV tee shirt, and hockey paraphernalia. The winner will be selected after the Saturday game at The Little Pub, located on campus. Hamilton is currently 8 and 4 this season, Bowdoin is also 8 and 4, with 2 tie games, said Caroline Knop, a junior and plays on Hamilton’s women’s ice hockey team. The tee shirts were specially designed for this fundraising effort, and are white, short-sleeved, with a blue Hamilton logo on the front and a teal and purple ribbon on the back. The teal and purple are the colors promoting sexual assault and domestic violence awareness. Below the ribbon are the words “Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Awareness Game.” YWCA Mohawk Valley 1000 Cornelia Street, Utica, NY 13502 P 315.732.2159 There are also specially designed jerseys the players will be wearing, that have already been sold and will be delivered after the game.
